It's always interesting to see him in a thread displaying his vast knowledge of music and musical history.

All justified.

I never went out to openly hate you or anything, but for a good while it seemed that whenever there was drama around here you were always in the centre of it, I think that put me off getting to know you directly and the only things I would hear about you is what other people would tell me, which was usually to complain about something.
If I did make any digs at you it was usually when you would complain about people doing to you exactly the things you were doing to them, a lot of it came from frustration of having the same things happen over and over again.

I think in the past few months since some certain people have been booted off or left the forum I have seen a much nicer side to you which makes me wonder if I was being too hard on you in the first place.

Anyway I'm glad we can both see though the bullshit and recognise the good things in each other. It's a start :)

Cheers broseph. I kinda like you too :)

It is important that people on this site have a good music taste, but it's more important for them to be nice people. And you are one of those.

FrancoPepeKalle - dunno why people seem to dislike him as what he has is a language impediment, seems like an alright guy and him championing African music gives him good marks in my record books

I had no idea language barriers made people homophobic.

Nor did I know it made them incredibly stupid. If thats so, I must question Howard's native language, since it clearly isn't English.

Deserved or underdeserved you have a vast following of minions on this site. At least thats what it has always appeared to be. Although Ethan also had many minions, and I am not sure who had the more vast empire. Dont take it personally but Ethan might have been a little ahead. You however have not quit the site which I guess gives you an automatic win over his quitting self.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-30-2012 10:53 PM

I don't have minions.

I had them all shot.

Thats a load of crap. Start a thread with an absurd yet possibly believable premise and I bet your minions will flock to it and agree with any outlandish crazy statement you make.

Goofle 05-31-2012 05:08 AM

Just sycophants.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-31-2012 09:36 AM

Well I think it's a shame that anybody who likes me or anybody I consider to be a friend at this place is automatically assumed to be a mindless follower who agrees with everything I say just by association. I guess I should extend that to anybody who ever agrees with me about anything ever now too.

Incidental what has any of this got to do with my post to Hermione?

To compare the two is a little disingenuous. Ethan was an insufferable grandstander who was far too cock-sure of himself (as all cult leaders are) and never ever looked at the other side of the coin.

Urban is no more comparable to Ethan than Marilyn Manson was to Charles Manson. I'll give you that people have a strong affinity to Urban, but its because of a mutual set of interests (in my opinion).

The flittering zombies that followed Ethan just wanted to suck the cock of a face-less idealized emotional state. There was nothing concrete about him or the creatures that followed him or whatever their implied interests were. It was leetspeak, and Bright Eyes/Elliot Smith fanboi-ism, and some sort of clothing scene planted between hipsters and hippies. It was nothing else, and whatever you think of Urban, its resoundingly unfair to compare him to that.

Thanks, Po. I think of you in the same way, except replace musician with artist. And it not being a joke.

In no way do I disagree with anything you said. I simple was making the statement that they both have/had large numbers of dedicated followers. I used the word minions to draw attention to my post in a cheap childish manner.

I couldn't not have described Ethans strange draw over people any better, I think you really nailed it. Although he always did seem remarkably honest in his postings.

@Urban: Maybe not minions but members willing to s a little d if need be.

Over the course of his time here he had about 15 names, like everyone else these days, but all you need to know it that he was banned 3 or 4 times, posted constantly so as to attain 9k posts about 3 years back, mod-ed, left, flirts with coming back but, in my opinion, doesn't have enough fan fare to return.

Dr_Rez 05-31-2012 08:59 PM

That's kinda funny he was banned 3 or 4 times and was a mod. I remember when he left he had a signature something like "gone off to the big sleep" (something like that) and I thought it was some kind of subliminal message that he went and done himself in or seriously contemplated to do so. After a long spell he came back to MB which logically meant he didn't (you know) and was only on a hiatus which alleviated some concern I had for him. He did change his signature during he slight return but then he changed his costumer user title is "isfckingdead" which again raises some concern. Really, I don't remember much about him.

WWWP 05-31-2012 11:23 PM

He joined the forums when he was like 12 years old or something. Maybe you ought to cut him some slack?

I got into a couple of heated debates with him and he even banned me a couple of times (and I definitely deserved it) but I still like the guy and don't really harbor any hate. Makes me wonder what he did to you to inspire this tirade of yours.

Personally, I find your sophisticated, uppity urban chic attitude/lifestyle just as bland as how you described sleepy jack.

Wow! I've really missed out on some epic facing-off over the years here haven't I? And I thought it was all about music and how we liked/didn't like it.

When's the movie coming out? :D

I feel like I have wandered in during the epilogue.

To me, Ethan was a bit like Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde. He was one of the few people I've talked with here on instant messaging and I basically considered him a forum mate. Still, I do think he often did cross the lines of what's okay to do on the forums, especially when posting about or responding to his nemesis Boo Boo. I don't think he should've been a moderator.

I don't remember you ever saying anything like this? Like I said, me and Ethan got into plenty of arguments; I know not to take it personal, same goes with anything you'd say to me. You're just a disagreeable person.

You still haven't answered why you dislike him so much.

Sums it up pretty well. Over instant messaging he was a cool guy, on the forums a bit hot-headed, not that there's anything wrong with that!
