I just find it silly that some people can't take criticism on a forum. Especially since life is full of criticism, with family and at work. If people can't just brush it off when it comes from people that we may never meet, I can't imagine what their life is like when it comes from people they see every day. Probably pretty lonely and miserable.

I just had to comment on this because I do take at least a little bit of annoyance at the fact that you somehow thing a thread I created for a specific purpose is ultimately something you choose it to be. However, I will concede that the importance of any public forum and its contents are more relevant to the mass of participants, ultimately, so if you feel this should be a thread where we solely congratulate others, then let me know what you'd prefer the title to be.

I wasn't trying to Bogart this thread from you. And I didn't mean to sound like that this thread sole purpose should be for the positive affirmations of the member we encounter on MusicBanter. Still, saying positive things is the peragitive for the member making a SYG post. If two members in this thread get into a scuffle and one leaves, I don't blame you as the OP for what happen. It is along those same lines I said what I said to Pet_Sounds. I felt Pet_Sounds should not feel like he has to bear any guilt of what transpired because he bumped a thread. He isn't responsible for other people's actions or what they say.

I'm pretty sure I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but in the event that I don't, which is yes, I want to let you know that I like you and it's always hilarious when you completely fuck up the English language like a total boss.

I think we can all agree that worse things have been said to us by people we actually care about, and while I don't agree with some of the overly rude things said to some people, it really is just the internet. I think it's a pretentious and egotistical attitude for a man to think that strange women value what they think of their appearance at all, to the point where they need to share their opinion (as if it holds any weight) but the internet is a better place to be a dick than pulling that shit on someone you actually know.

I have something nice to contribute to the recent barrage of bull**** in this thread, though.

It was nice plugging with ultra-wasted Goofle and company last night - the man has good taste and I hope he wasn't too sick when the booze wore off.

Yet another one that does not understand that this thread was created for honesty, not circle-jerking. I apologize for your misunderstanding, however, if you feel that the only honesty this thread should have is the kind that makes people feel better about themselves, then let's talk about that. Otherwise, this isn't the entire internet and there are many other threads for that to happen however intrinsically. If you've a problem with the thread's intent, which, guess what... is about honesty, then do let me know how I can alter it so that it's not about honesty and is more about making people feel nice.

We can all be adults here. From me, to you. I can work on my tact, and you can start understanding why this thread is here in the first place, or maybe figure out that if you don't take criticism constructively, then you're not trying to learn anything about yourself.

Let's both give it a go, eh?

Ready to cave now, because you've got a point. You could have been less of a dick, but you have a point.

I don't care for you. But that's alright.

I think you are perfectly relevant here. So. For my own sake and the future of others' ego, let's define "dick".

I think we should take a survey of the definition of "dick".

Is it

a) an unpleasant person void of all tact and manners
b) something I never get anymore
c) Ted Nugent
d) all of the above

it seems like it must hold some weight. i can't imagine why we would assume it holds no weight when really what the opposite sex thinks of your appearance

tbh i tend to think women in general whine too much about being objectified when really they do it to themselves by buying into it and letting it get to them.

for instance this woman at work got mad at me cause i called her a whore but really i wasn't being malicious about it she just didn't like the way i worded it so bluntly. she was being a whore and talking to me and this other dude about her sex life and how she had 2 boyfriends even when she was in kindergarten and i said "damn, so you've been a whore since day one basically." and she got really annoyed and was like you shouldn't use that word since it's a double standard etc and i was like yea but the difference is if you called us a whore we wouldn't take any offense to it. it's like you want to be treated like men but you don't know how to act like men. i will probably catch heat for this comment but oh well
