Hehe thank you! I think the German accent is very sexy, so I bet you sound good. ;) I demand you post a picture of yourself in the Members Pic Gallery. |

1- Cause i hate Seinfield 2- My mother was a one legged prostitute. (i say 'Was' because later on she found Jesus.) |
F*ck it, I'm gonna do one.
Circe - I think in her mind she would much rather this place be called CirceBanter. Isn't really around here long enough to be annoying but it's OK at least we all know what you look like now so there's no need to remind us every time you log on. Frownland - Given that Frownland has a rather leftfield taste in music I think the highest compliment I can pay him is that by saying usually when meeting people with the same tastes as him they come across as being rather arrogant & pretentious and will only say something good about an album if it was a bunch of factory noise recorded in a warehouse in East Germany in 1983 and released on cassette or some such bollocks. Thankfully he avoids all this by being a pretty cool down to earth guy. Roxy Rollah - Went through 3 stages with this girl. At first I wondered if she was just here to court popularity with no real substance behind her. Then when I saw her argue her corner a few times I knew that wasn't the case. Then I wondered if she was the type of person who would surround themselves by ass lickers and have no time for anybody else who would dare disagree with her. Then I saw she could take it as well as give it. I have no real reason to think bad of her so far and enjoy talking to her a lot. Burning Down - Seems to have come out of her shell a bit since her boyfriend joined which is a good thing. Humour isn't really her strong point though, she seems to be a bit slow on the uptake on some things. There have been several times where she's come into a thread and explained or corrected a post without realising it was supposed to be funny even though other people have clearly understood it. I'll put it down to cultural differences. Kartoffelbrei - Only joined here this week and I'm already having flashbacks to S.K. & Howard The Duck. I think he's going to be one of 'Those' posters. Briks - Reminds me a lot of myself when I was a kid. Forget emo, go listen to Krautrock, Funk, Dance & Folk. Spread your musical wings as far as you can, and who knows in 10 or 15 years you could be me. Wouldn't you just love that. HA! djchameleon - I don't hate you, What I do find annoying is this need of yours to appear knowledgeable about every single subject in the world ever. Someone could start threads about anything from quantum physics to women's shoes and you'll be in both telling people how wrong they are, even if they are fully qualified quantum physicists or shoemakers. I think you like to think that you're being edgy and playing devils advocate when in reality it comes across like you're talking out of your arse because you have nothing better to do. Unknown Soldier - Just goes from strength to strength on this forum. Easily has the best journal (Apart from mine). I don't know if this is just my perception but he seems to be talking about a more wider spectrum of music these days which is also great, and he likes Doctor Who which is another bonus. Rjinn - Stays under the radar most of the time. I think she's incredibly cool. She has this kind of dignity about her, never seen her blow up or be rude to anybody, never seen her posting garbage. There just no wasted posts with her, she says something and 99.9999 times out of 100 it's worth reading. Batlord - Bit of a one trick pony to be honest. Once you've read 4 or 5 posts by him you can pretty much guess what the next 100 will be like. I don't dislike him, he can be funny sometimes. It's just those times are becoming rarer and rarer as he believes his own hype. I doubt he cares though, he'll probably brush this off with a silly gif. Christian Benteke - Never really crossed paths with him often as he spends most of his time in the sports & hip hop forums. Never had a problem with him, seems like a cool guy. Just keep doing what you're doing. Misspoptart & Lisnaholic - Feel they deserve a mention just for the fact that even though they sometimes post about quite niche types of music and don't they always get a lot of replies it still doesn't deter them from being here. And they're both incredible nice people. Trollheart - I'm glad he's now got to know the real me a bit better and doesn't take things personally. I'm also glad that with the new journal approving tool I don't have to go into his journal and have my computer die because of his 100 youtube videos in 4 posts needs approval (He did actually do this one time BTW). I'd like to see him loosen up a bit more, you don't HAVE to do anything in your journals, people prefer it when you're more spontaneous. Do I have to remind you of the Slayer thing? I bet Reign in Blood was your most commented on review ever. Do more stuff like that and don't worry about not getting through the pile of albums you're doing in your own journal that might get one reply for every 10 albums you review. That main journal of yours is a ball & chain around your ankles. Come have more fun with us. Engine & Bob. - Just incredibly cool guys Big3 - I hope he realises that when I rag on him it's done in affection. Never EVER had an issue with him and thought he talked a great deal of sense when he was a mod (apart from the journal thing, but once in almost 10 years isn't bad). A part of me wishes he was still on the team. Don't understand a lot of his rants but at least he's ranting about something. Goofle11 - Will own this site in 5 years, maybe even sooner. DriveYourCarDownToTheSea - You seem like an awfully cool guy, you seem to have a good handle on music discussion, but please take this in the nicest way possible which is how it's intended and stop talking about the same 4 or 5 bands all the time. Is it really possible for you to find even more ways to post Tame Impala & Animal Collective videos in every other post? And if it's not them it's either The Beach Boys or the Beatles. I don't say this out of hatred, I say this from having respect for your opinions and an interest in your posts. I just wish you would widen the net onto other stuff. Paul Smeemus - I like Paul a lot, I do think he can take things a bit too personally sometimes which I think can sometimes give ammunition to the people who don't like him. That Guy Who Posts In The Shoutbox A Lot Who Has The Grammar Skills Of An 8 Year Old - Such a waste of space it's not even worth me mentioning him by name, it'll just give him the attention he so obviously craves. |

It means that their favourite topic of conversation was themselves.
As you're new you get a pass because nobody knows you but it's annoying after a year. And not everybody is going to like you, just concentrate on those that do. |

Don't go into threads, that are dick threads. What I mean is, if you get hurt easily, don't go into ban the user above you. Stick with Rate your avatar. Don't put yourself in a place where you are opening yourself up to being hurt. That's just silliness... Why jump in front of the bus, when you use the crosswalk? Thirdly, you haven't been with us but more then 4 days or something, so you can't honestly think you know any of us. I mean you are doing everything right, trying to meet people, and get to know them, and seeing where you fit in. I respect that and I dig that, but don't take anything from anyone to heart, because you haven't had the time to establish any sort of connection other then in passing. I told you once, and I told you twice, now this is the last time I am gonna say it. Lurk! it's the most helpful tool you have. See what's what. See whose where, see who you think you might like and who you think you won't. See which musical threads you are comfortable enough to comment in. Then post. Your English is outstanding brother, but sometimes, there are just cultural differences, that can not be conveyed unless, unless English is your mother tongue. It just is. Nice to have you here, I hope you stay, just chill out. |

Yeah, I'm just a bloody sensitive person, and I haven't been to a lot of forums, or tried to interact over the internet with people i do not know, except through deviantart.. and those people just see my art, and not my words. I think I still have a few problems communicating in english, but I have to do this. I came to this forum, so I could improve my english, as I need a scholarship, when I start my education.. Cheers for the advise, I'll try to use it wisely |
303 posts in 4 days is rather excessive my friend.

Before you post, ask yourself 2 questions 1. Does this post/thread need a response now 2. Does this thread/post need a response from *me*? For example, the answer, or more to the point *your* answer, Kartoffelbrei, to those two questions as pertains to this post would both be "no". :) |
Urban, thanks for the mention. Seriously. I was surprised, thought you'd pass me over or make a flippant one word comment. As for my journal, well here's the thing, as they say: I love it. I know it may not be your cup of tea but you know, someone else must like it going by the views. I know it doesn't get comments but I've got used to that by now. I'm also very much enjoying the Couch Potato, and excited about what new stuff I can bring to it (stay tuned). I'm particularly happy about that because I managed to sort of break the mould and reached beyond the obvious by introducing the idea of covering TV and film, which to my knowledge nobody had done before. Hey, even you're doing it now, though I wouldn't dream of taking credit: you were probably thinking about it for years.
I think I've improved a lot in terms of contact. I used to stay in my (at the time only one) journal, and hardly even realised there were conversations going on outside. Now, I divide my time between journals and threads. I think I've started some good, interesting, funny and also really bad ones, but I'm certainly taking part. I'm not sure why you think the journal is a millstone but I assure you it's not: when I realised that posting every day --- often three or four articles in the one day --- was killing me I tuned it down, and now as you can see I may update one or twice a week, sometimes more but not that often. it's part of me now and something that gives me a focus and something to do, and I enjoy it. Anyway, I see through you little plan: Trollheart listens to Urban and winds up his journals, leaving the Hat€monger to move in and take over as the most popular. Not gonna happen, my friend! ;) But thanks: it's really, seriously, nice to know you care. The journals however will continue, and grow, till there's nothing left of Music Banter but Trollheart's journals, covering 99% of the surface of the ... ah. I may have said too much... :shycouch: Oh and yeah, I've got your humour now. I understand. No offence taken; I get it. :thumb: |

For the record, I like Urban a lot. Good sense of humour, great taste in music and isn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers. |

I did think about it for a while. I'm pretty sure someone did have a film journal years ago but I forget who so it wasn't really your journal that inspired me to do it because there already were non music journals. In fact I did start a TV thing somewhere, I reviewed David Tennant in Takin' Over the Asylum. It was however your conversation with Unknown Soldier about Doctor Who that kicked my arse into gear when I saw it because I wanted to get to it first. So yes, half credit. |

Lol I do that every time I post. I've left more than a few replies to posts of yours on my lcd screen without hitting the send button, for example. |
Aside from the two obnoxious people in the plug room last night who got offended because I asked if they could keep our 'chill out' music theme going, I continue to like everyone that has made their presence known in there.

Like I said, good chance they were drunk, it was friday night. Maybe they'll make themselves known another time and be less annoying. |
