I lurked on here for about four years before signing up.

I used to search for threads like 'Outkast albums best to worst' for reviews and stuff and this forum would come up on the search results.

RoxyRollah 03-26-2014 10:49 AM

You two are my kinda fellows!

Pet sounds I meant to tell you this bro, when I went off on Ze German, like 20 pages ago, you asked if it was you brother. No sweetheart I was not referring to you, or to Black Francis, I was aiming it at two people.

One that didn't, know me from a hole in the wall and thought it was a good idea to post their first opinion of me in SYG (one night after I was blitzed outta my skull in plug)

This person has been the only noob that has joined in the past three weeks that I can say has passed the test, and earned my respect. Was a rough start I didn't think it was gonna go well, but....

Carpe, you aint so bad ma. I just think you shouldn't judge people so quickly when you get somewhere new. Learn who they are first. ;) Sometimes drugs make it hard to type... And you will miss out on some killer people on here just cause they are wasted in plug...That reminds me anyone seen WD?

And the other was the German whose incessant nobody understands me whining drove me to crack. And I was more then sweet to him before I snapped.

I made a completely ambiguous post because, my real guts are 50 pages before that. I thought it was interesting the amount of people that thought I meant them.

Black Francis 03-26-2014 10:53 AM

I can't do the lurking thing, it intimidates me.

if im not part of the conversation i have a hard time getting in the conversation, i need like an opening ya know? and ive never been good from watching from the side lines, i always rush in and learn through trial & error.

That maybe so, but it's always a good idea to know your surroundings man.

I don't just show up at a Klan rally screaming "where all the white woman at?"

Nope. I like my teeth.

Goofle 03-26-2014 12:22 PM

I didn't lurk at all. I think being relatively chilled out and not trying to force myself on everyone helped me settle in.

I am glad you didn't force yerself on people love. If you had that would make you some sort of internet predator...

I didn't exactly *lurk* but I read and understood the forun rules, and stuck to music discussions in February 2013 when I started here. If I posted to existing threads I kept it on topic. That's why I find it particularly offensive when all these get-my-fifteen-posts-as-fast-as-possible Knuckleheads make their daily appearance here.

Carpe Mortem 03-26-2014 01:11 PM

You all right too Roxo, you all right too. It's just when you and anti came into the plug that night you... literally.... were ranting in ebonics at eachother and I'm like 'oh god it's two teenage girls who probably chat up a storm all the time' haha. I think we've proven ourselves different people since then.

I didn't lurk that much when I came here about a month ago. And I definitely post a lot. But nobody b!tches so I guess I'm good. I really prefer plugging over forum'ing anyways, I think that helped my cause.

Internet manners. Dude it boils down to internet manners. And a shot of laziness and disdain for rules. (Which I pass no judgment on the last two, I'll be the first to say it I am lazy as **** sometimes, and I don't like rules, and I certainly hate the man. Whoever he is.)

But there is a certain decorum, that goes with you through out life, and if you haven't learned it by now, then you should really examine that. In life there is a pecking order, in nature, in humanity. I am not saying it's good, I am not saying it's bad. It just is..There is also an an ebb and flow, and things if they are not forced will happen on their own.

You don't go somewhere, a job, a party, a forum on the internet, and start ****ing with people that, that you neither know, nor have established any connection with. That's just bad form on your part. It shows me from jump that one, you will mostly have no manners, and two you missed out on a few valuable ass beatings in life. The kind that teach you to think before you speak, and drop you down a peg, in your literal britches, or your cyber ones.

Straight up, humility is an attractive quality in people, and those that lack it are a complete turn off. You sought this place out, you chose to come here, how in gods name are you gonna act like an *******?

I get it, if you are not shy and you want to jump in right off the bat, more power to you. People like Goofle, and Paul have the right idea for the non shy crowd. Ebb and Flow man, they let their **** happen organically, and are both incredibly beloved members. So.....yeah... Manners

LEAVE ME BE

Yeah! :bringit:

I didn't so much lurk as set up shop in my journal from where I never ventured for about a year. I gained some interest/notoriety from the amount of posts I made there, but never really took any notice of the rest of the forum. It was the news about Lee (Jackhammer)'s wife passing away that finally brought me out blinking into the light, and when I got there it was like

MY GOD! IT'S FULL OF PEOPLE!

I went back to my journal but now hang out here regularly too, so it worked out really well.

Nope, not really. I don't romanticize the past like there were some golden days of MB. :nono:

Pet_Sounds 03-26-2014 08:39 PM

The impressions I formed of everyone when I was lurking turned out to be quite different from those formed when I started actually interacting with people. I had dj pegged as a straight-up agressive arsehole; Urban pegged as a sarcastic smart-ass; and Roxy pegged as a over-sarcastic smart-ass. The only one of those I retained is Urban. I still think he's a smart-ass, but in a good way.

I am so glad this isn't the spill your first impression thread. ;)

Honey, something I have been meaning to spill on you in particular, is that you remind me of myself at 19 and 20 and discovering The Beatles, and The Beach Boys, and there is something about the energy in your posts that makes me very nostalgic in a good way. I love your posts, I just don't listen to them like I used to. (This coming from the chick with Lennon lyrics tattooed on her. Go figure.) So I never comment in your threads, but I read them. You are good peoples. Keep that **** up. And friend request me super lurker.

Pet_Sounds 03-26-2014 09:51 PM

Done! :)
And which lyrics are tattooed on you?

Lennon. (Not Beatles don't get it twisted.) I have 'Mother' tattooed on my lower back, and wrist.

I meant to say too it's the whole song. Except the very last verse.

I am not really a tattoo person but I plan on eventually getting a small tattoo with my mom and pa's initials on either side of a celtic cross.

Ok a dad joke is like a god awful not funny joke, that your father would make. But you laugh cause your dad told you.

A cousin to mom jeans.

On your spine? That is gonna bug you a bit, if it's on your spine...

I had to have them stop on my tramp stamp 2 times, cause it burned, like hell.

Haha okay I get it! My dad is so like that. He says stuff like "go be like a tree and leave".

Yeah it probably will but it means a lot to me. On a random note, today I bought computer chip earrings, no joke! I might post a picture with me wearing them lol.

I know people are really mean about tramp stamps but honestly, I quite like them.

butthead aka 216 03-26-2014 11:18 PM

Omg that's awesome!! Yes I will marry you, it's legal here!

I love odd jewellery. My parents bought me beautiful Marilyn Monroe earrings and I bloody lost one during a night out I was so devastated, because they got it in Australia.

I like the look of tramp stamps because when a guy is doing a girl from behind, it really looks beautiful as her back arches into it.

Wpnfire 03-27-2014 12:44 AM

I was looking through some of the old threads here today, and I liked the posts by this one guy Dieselboy.
  • He posted in the electronic thread. (Shocking I know)
  • he sounded like a really chill guy
  • his journal was really interesting, and I'm considering making a journal after reading his actually.
  • His av was awesome.
  • He was awesome.
Moral: we need more people like him!

Also, I noticed there have been quite a lot of people banned from this site who had like 2000 or 3000 posts. Like this person named boo boo? Why was he/she banned?

That Tattoo isn't too bad but generally tribal tattoos are tacky as ****.

They are just extremely lame and popular for some stupid reason.

It's usually the ones that dudebros like to get wrapped around their bicep.
