...oh I guess you are talking about me. I'm not use to see my name in this thread.

Well thanks for the kind words. I liked your first post in Spill Yo Guts..., which was a genreal impression of the different types of MB members, which kinda reminded me of my self in both in the description - well you did covered all the bases and described everybody - and the fact it's the kinda an introverted thing I do which I stand back and observe what's going on and take notice how people act. To me you seem down to Earth and friendly and I'm glad to see other members notice that as well.

FRED HALE SR. 11-02-2012 01:03 PM

Neapolitan- Good guy, quirky, seems to have alot of obscure answers to information that pertains to the subject which I enjoy. Likes a few of the same bands I like.

Vegangelica- She seems like a really sweet lady. She always takes the time to delve into peoples questions/journals/lives with great fervor and joy. I really respect her for that, I wish I had a bit more of her kindness in me.

Exoskeletal- Haven't seen him mentioned much. I enjoy his movie journal and his house videos have been rather entertaining to check out. Comes across as intelligent and has a wide array of interests that are engaging to me.

Rjinn- Boy she started out rough on the site, but she seems to be making friends now and fits right into just about any discussion. Pretty nice gal, seems a lil feisty too and thats always a good thing. Go get em.

PoorOldPo 11-02-2012 07:37 PM

I am growing quite fond of Blabobbarg and Rjinn. I feel like some(and I mean some) of the more initiated(bollocks term I know) members ignore me though, don't know why. But I have kind of gotten used to it. Still very fond of everyone that I have mentioned before.

Scarlett O'Hara 11-02-2012 09:36 PM

Urban: my best friend and is the best at ripping people new ones. I really love our inside jokes that we subtly post on MB!

bob.: a really great guy and I always enjoy reading about your music tastes.

Fetcher: adoreable Scottish lass that I love and want to get on the piss with.

Freebase: you are so much fun to mod with, you have this ability to go on rampages with me annoying other members yet still remain a really fair mod.

Janszoon: I adore you. You're funny, witty and are incredibly intelligent. I always feel special when you take an interest in me.

Burning Down: you're my favourite lady on here and are always good for decent conversation.

Hermione: I know we have had our occasional arguments but I like your fire, originality and passion for life. You're a great girl.

Awwsugar: I do like you but find you a bit sarcastic and judgmental of my opinions sometimes. I may not always make sense with what I say but I find your response can be quite snarky.

Big3: probably the most thoughtful and intelligent person here, I love it when you get on your box and tell people how it's done - particularly with political discussions!

Batlord: you are always cracking me up, I love the banter you have with people and can relate to your music taste! :)

Blarobbarg: an all round nice person.

Loathsome Pete: You're a cool guy that I've gotten to know a bit more in these last few months.

Pedestrian: at first I found you a right pain in the ass, but it didn't take long for me to see you were a really interesting lady and has continued to significantly contribute to MB as a whole.

Mojopiunk: You're such a wonderful guy, caring, fun and a great guy to talk to. I really appreciated your response to the spam thread you totally get it.

Vegeangelica: you're a perfectly nice woman but I think you need to put your feet in other people's shoes before making judgments sometimes.

hip hop bunny hop: so many people seem to love you on here but I find you terribly unkind and ignorant. You pretend to be this excellent debater but all I've ever seen is unsubstantiated claims, bad research and hot air.

More to come another day.

Hip Hop Bunny Hop is one of the realist members here. He says how he feels. I got to deeply respect for this man. He say how he thinks.

Trollheart 11-03-2012 06:28 PM

Unfortunately he thinks like some sort of cartoon amalgam of an eighteenth-century workhouse owner, Hitler, Stalin and Mitt Romney. Kind of covers all the bases: there's a lot to dislike about the guy, and to me, little to like. And no, "speaking his mind" or "telling it like it is" doesn't impress me and isn't an excuse for being racist/misogynist or elitist.

When's rabbit season open anyway? ;)

Yeah, "Saying it how you see it" isn't really a positive trait if the way you see it is from the viewpoint of a bigoted *******.

Definitely not a positive trait, but at least it's an honest one.
I know that certain lines have to be drawn in places like this, but in general, i'd feel like if someone's opinion was suppressed based on whether it was an unpopular perspective, we might as well be an opinion manufacturing factory.

I value variety of perspective over everyone high-fiving each other because they all agree every day of the week.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Though of course in this particular instance we're talking about someone who has made it pretty clear he isn't so much expressing honest opinions as he is just saying things that he knows will irritate people because he likes the attention.

To be honest, I personally and honestly can't say whether I believe that or not, no matter how much I may like it to be so. We really have no evidence that he's simply trying to piss everyone off, versus simply stating his opinions.

We're left with just making judgments about whether he's using opinion simply to piss people off... and it's pretty hard to go ahead and dictate something like that simply because we see it that way. I mean, we CAN... but is it right?

Bloozcrooz 11-03-2012 08:59 PM

Not to get to far off topic here but I happen to do that a lot with people. I catch a lot of shyte for it but I just dont see the point in catering my thoughts for the benefit of someones feelings. I dont always like what people have to say to me but if its the truth I respect them more in the long run. Initially it may seem harsh but I always end up appreciating the fact that they said what they thought. No matter the topic because thats how I am myself. Of course you cant expect everyone to adopt this way of thinking cause everyones different. Of course through the years it has earned me plenty of names. @.zz hole being the most popular. Especially in relationships with the opposite sex. I'm ok with that because by popular opinion its the truth. Is it wrong is it right...I dont know but its how I'm wired. I'm under the impression that once your an adult the truth should not be hard to handle if it is in fact the way you truly feel. In most instances though its not the case because people for the most part dont like to hear the truth. But thats just my opinion.

Oh, I agree it isn't right to dictate opinions, like I said before. Just "spilling my guts" here, don't mind me.

Whoop-di-do, he's honest. Doesn't mean he's a nice person.

Forward To Death 11-03-2012 09:35 PM

No one's above hate/dislike, one way or another, so I have a hard time getting cut up by bigotry or even hateful speech.

I also appreciate honesty, but I'm not entirely sure hhbh isn't just out for ****s and gigs. Either way, I enjoy his posts sometimes, sometimes he's just a dumb ass, and that's okay with me.

Is there some unspoken rule that says we are obligated as human beings to be a nice person? To me analyzing what I say for fear of disagreement or any other reason is pretentious no? Because its not how you truly feel and its just to pacify the other person.

You know sometimes I wish hhbh would just describe himself as a Consevative, Liberal, Communist, Socialist, Capitalist, Aurthoritarian, or Anarchist so I know what agenda he is approximately articulating. Until then imo he'll remain one of the most surreal members here

I find that endearing that you have problems with other members - not that I want to see anyone give you a hard time. But it is something that I can relate to and in fact those words "I may not always make sense with what I say but I find your response can be quite snarky" go through my mind quite often.

Yes unfortunately you can't escape someone taking what you say offensive on the internet but I don't let it bother me, it's just something I've noticed. I haven't exactly been an angel on here hehe.

^ No problem with that; the answer is "obviously not."

To me there`s nothing particularly pretentious about analyzing what you say. Babies express how they truly feel, screaming to reject discipline, crying when they`re hungry or scared. But then we grow up, we moderate our outbursts; we become more aware of the people around us and, usually, with that awareness comes empathy and consideration.

Recently an aquaintance of mine told me tearfully that she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She didn`t look too good, but she told me that she was trying to be positive - that some people conquer cancer just by thinking positive thoughts. Well, after my initial shock, what I thought was, "You look like you`re dying. You are beyond the help of positive thoughts. Thank God it`s happening to you, not me." Not very worthy thoughts, but I`ll admit that that`s how I truly felt. Didn`t say any of it though, because what I truly feel is not always the most important issue.

Moderating what we say for fear of disagreement is perhaps less honorable, but it happens, often for the sake of peaceful co-existence.

So I guess I`m saying that as a social animal, I`m forever monitoring what I say for whatever of the reasons above. What you call pretentious, I would call mature.

Excellent response. I wholeheartedly agree. Being considerate is a rare quality that unfortunately becomes forgotten. A lot of people will mistake that as "not being yourself" and I think at some point it can become quite narcissistic. Be honest about what you're trying to express, opinions and such, but I don't really see why it has to be shoved in your face and devoided of respect. Acknowledge with tone and comfort that you're open to opinion, perspective, ideas, and not just yours.

All valid points but I put my response in the "what is the future of human evolution" thread. Closest fitting thread format I was willing to spend time looking for.

"All the jokes for all the folks", that's my motto. Actually, mine is "If it didn't scream when it died, then I don't wanna eat it", but that's not really relevant to the conversation.

FRED HALE SR. 11-06-2012 11:02 AM

I wanted to concentrate this post on people I feel really add alot to music discussion here and do an admirable job in the process.

Alfred- Very nice approachable guy with a vast discography. Also adds to the Lounge area and has a very good personailty and great approach to everything in general.

Mankycaant- He at times seems to be the guy that sparks conversation in a myriad of ways. Has a real taste for good hip hop and takes the time to create lasting threads and doesn't ever stray from his feelings on anything.

Urban- I don't get the people who put him on blast. I think hes a pretty down to earth guy and his music taste is very admirable. He puts alot of heart into his post and has a real dialed in approach to seeing things. I find myself doubting my own discography at times because he says something that makes sense even if its taking a band I love and adore and smashing them to bits. Solid guy. And yeah I deserved the **** off that one time. LOL
