They are both connected in the two ways one a goon and a goblin both being creatures
Then in the sense of a goblin being more grisly than a goon in the street sense. Goons are a step up from stick up kids and I see goblin being higher than a goon.

nobody calls each other goblins on the streets.

Hopefully i'll see one come up in game of thrones, but as street terminology i think its a stretch.

Or maybe weezy is self-conscious and realizes his appearance is similar to a goblin and is embracing a la the n word

Goblin is just a newer slang, only a few call themselves that

I think I have to start hating Tyler The Creator now that he has a VMA, I think that's a law or something.

Nah I'm just kidding, congrats to him! It's awesome that he won and he deserved it.
