Well First off Rusko = london so I dont know how this differs much from croydon london. And as much as that song it was the link I had playing @ the time. Friend sent me the link and i thought it was fairly funny. If i knew how to put videos on here I would. The only reason that one is up is because a mod fixed the code to make it work. Just putting in the embed code doesnt work.

For me obsessive amounts of wobble seperates dubstep from its bigger brother UKG or grime which uses marginal wobbles. And since benga seems to be someone we can agree with that is "dubstep" the following songs by him i consider dubstep:

Benga - 26 Basslines (especially)
Benga - Crunked Up
Benga - Evolution

I could name alot more but those are the ones I found in 2 seconds that you too could easily find given you dont already have them.

yeah. agree with you on the wobble there. basically it all falls under the glorious umbrella of 140-odd (?)bpm bassy 2-step music. The 'function' dubstep serves depends entirely on the producer whether it's skankers or holed-up in your bedroom with an L-skin thinking music. I'm really out of touch with dubstep these days but I know that every time I check in it has spread and evolved. Like there are some producers blurring the lines between step and breakcore right now, it's all gone mental. And re the drum & bass comment further up, d&b heads all seem to be mad on dubstep, it's the same principle. Where I used to live they were getting dubstep DJ's in to play out to the coke crew, it was pretty cool. Also somebody help me with Underwater Dancehall by Pinch before I shoot myself or resort to buying it. frnngh
