The Electro-House Thread

So this is pretty much my favorite genre of music, at least for the past several months. Most of it is coming out of Europe, specifically France. Most of you are at least familiar with Justice, but there are hordes of these producers and groups around.

Teenage Bad Girl is nasty as hell. Before a few days ago all I'd heard were their remixes, which were solid. However, their original stuff is even dirtier. I cannot recommend them enough. I'm working on an upload of their LP now; PM me if interested.

What are you guys' favorite producers/groups? Please limit yourselves to those working within the electro and electro-house genres.

It's so good, it brings tears to my eyes. No sarcasm there, this is awesome, thanks enemyat.
as for the question, my favorite producer/group at the moment is Black Lab with their album "technologie", still blows my mind well produced this stuff is and from THIS group. I love their previous stuff, but I never thought I would post about it here in this forum.

Yeah, Teenage Bad Girl's album was probably the most criminally underrated album of 07 in this genre. It come out I think right around the time all the "big" albums in this genre did so it slipped under the radar for most people I guess.

Lately I haven't been enjoying this genre as much, but the past few Institubes releases have been solid. Surkin & Bobmo have been doing this sort of early 90s dance throwback thing, and of course Eurogirls Go To Baltimore has one of my favorite songs of this year, "Freak From Desire" by Round Table Knights.

I've also been into The Black Ghosts (Simon Lord from Simian and another DJ) and Le Le (Parra, the graphic designer, and some friends formed what's basically the Dutch version of TTC).

great! i have my ex-flatmate's Electro House mixes lying around, shall up some tomorrow. For a while Funky House was taking over (at least in southern England) but that was pants. I like electro house, there's alot of tonal range with all the DJ's involved (like the aforementioned Justice bringing dance music to the scenesters).. will definitely up dem mixes

enemyat_thesix 06-23-2008 11:17 PM

yeah dude, the Black Ghosts are sick. the Whip remix of "Any Way" is killer

you should check out my muxtape, basically all my favorite electro tracks

yowch.muxtape.com

you should check out Headman, too. i downloaded his latest LP after hearing his Chromeo remix, and it is awesome. not electro-house per se, but pumping nonetheless

So, I take it that ironically, nasty does in fact mean "rather good"? :v

Eh. Electro house is alright. I just listen to some Ed Bangar Records stuff and MSTRKRFT.
