But Daft Punk is like the marijuana of electronic music.

At least they got me more into the genre and I was able to find lesser-known artists and bands that I now prefer over Daft Punk.

I still have them on party playlists though.

Daft Punk is an interesting band, their sound is different from anything i have heard, and i really like they're interstella 5555.

What class of electronic music do people usually place Daft Punk in? I thought I heard someone mention house at some point, but I'm not sure.

It depends on the song really. They seem to go back in forth between Techno, Electro, and House

Just got the Alive 2007 album today.. Holy ****! it rocks!
I'm just hoping they'll stop by Denmark/Germany/Sweden on their upcoming tour so I'll get a chance to see them live.

i think the point of daft punk is they don't pigeon hole into one/two genres... post dance i used to call them to take the piss out of genres...

anyways - main reason i posted is this vid - i want one now!
