I absolutely love Deadmau5...he's one of my inspirations. I can't really hang with some of the long mixes so I always condense them down and remix them down to 3 3 1/2 minutes lol

But I love him...he is AMAZING

All of the threads in Electronica are noob central because nobody wants to take an interest in to the music, although everyone on here says they're "open to new music". My arse.

I've made it a goal to explore some electronica as of late. I downloaded "My Name Is Skrillex." I enjoyed it more than I figured I would. I am working on downloading "Project 56" by Deadmau5. Anyone have any links to some free Deadmau5 or Tiesto with which I could wet my whistle? I'd rather not blindly drop money before I know what I'm getting myself into.

If you're looking for Tiesto I'd highly suggest Just Be.

As for deadmau5, I really like Get Scraped

For Lack of a Better Name was probably the first Deadmau5 album I listened to and it made me fall in love with him.

Deadmau5 is awesome. Not gonna lie, he isn't the best. Wolfgang Gartner is the best when it comes to electro but he pumps out consistantly good music. He also helps the electronic music scene. yes he is mainstream, and yes he isnt a real DJ, but everyone knows him, and he isnt lame or to poppy like Guetta or dare i say it Daft Punk *i never really liked them*. He has such a wide variety and he cranks out songs all the time. He has danceable pop hits *like sofi needs a latter* then he also has some more contemplative reflective music. He also puts on a bad ass live show. i feel like because how big EDM is getting people don't realize his geniuos. ive always thoguht electronic music was underappreciated. its like classical music. so nuanced and subtle, it takes alot to be able to makes music from the ground up.

listen to his songs Cephei, Bleed, attention whore and Strobe. Not his hits, but it shows his grasp on music

I'm new to the scene, but "American Slushie" and "15 Minutes" are my favorites from what I've heard (Project 56).
