I have never delved, some great songs above though... Giorgio Moroder is a genius and my point of contact with Italo disco and all this prototype electronic stuff. For this track alone he should get a really, really big gold trophy of some sort, filled with chocolate. Perfect!:

It's a cool sound. Much more robotic and European than 'regular disco', must have been a huge influence on Detroit techno

Italo Disco, also called by some Spaghetti Dance. :laughing: But the style was imitated throughout Europe. I remember this Spanish guy named Iván. In 1984 Fotonovela was a hit in many countries:

Here's another cover of an Italian italo disco song, this time one by Michael Fortunati. The cover is by a Japanese group called BaBe.



The 80s is easily the best dance era for me, the whole decade was full of danceable music.
