That just made me eargasm.

Flux Pavilion

I've particularly got into him, so I'll recommend some of my favourite tracks and remixes by him I like the soft vocals leading up to a smashing drop and wild wobble. He seems to take a harmony and smash it into pieces with dub step while still preserving the house part of it. He's doing pretty well for himself getting sampled and remixed by other artists as well.

Info from Wiki: Joshua Steele, known professionally as Flux Pavilion, is an English dubstep producer and DJ.[1] He is the co-founder of Circus Records, along with Doctor P and DJ Swan-E. Along with Doctor P, Flux Pavilion presented the 2011 compilation album Circus One, to which he contributed four tracks.

It's Dubstep-ish

Amazing innit?

I happened upon this, which is really cool stuff. Definitely different to a lot of the other stuff coming out.

Mrd00d 02-13-2012 05:21 PM

This was epic and I had to share. Some have heard of sound guns, the possible future of weaponry. Now, imagine if they used dubstep in the sound gun.

I thought "This would be cool as just a song". Well, the song(s) are out there, actually.

This is one in the middle:

On an unrelated related note, imagine if your car security system killed carjackers by locking them in, cranking dubstep to 11 and making them have aneuryisms... You don't have to imagine, here's the Son of Kick video for "Playing the Villain"

Unrelenting 02-13-2012 07:56 PM

I actually linked klaypex earlier. It's really good stuff. Didya get their free ep?

Mrd00d 02-14-2012 05:50 AM

I thought I'd seen that album art earlier. No, not yet. But I probably will.

Unrelenting 02-15-2012 07:45 PM

It's worth it, after all it's free!

If Infected Mushroom goes full dubstep with their next album I will kill myself.

Although I like that Psystep preview better than any of the recent brostep that has been posted. Could be interesting to hear...might as well be optimistic

It's infected mushroom, I'd expect them to explore as many genres as possible, embracing dub step and putting their own spin on it was inevitable. I can't see them bringing it into more than 3 tracks if even, they'll always be predominantly psytrance.

also this. Tried posting it before but could only find the DJ set mix, which was god awful :(

Mrd00d 02-16-2012 08:59 PM

Like Ott threw dubstep into his latest album, Mir.

Typical Ott, typical Ott (very nice) and then dubstep wobbles halfway through til the end... I liked it.

They only did it on a couple tracks, and it went over very well with me. But he'll always be psybient.

Well I hope this is true. U R So F***d is a hard hitter but I don't think I could sit through a full album of it. I like the way IM experiments with other genres (especially the metal guitar on the previous album, which reminded me of a better KMFDM). The classical album was cool too.

Scarlett O'Hara 03-10-2012 11:43 PM

I'm loving the new Skrillex single. Christina Grimmie does a awesome dance to it haha.

A cool tracks by Knife Party:

Good hip hop/dubstep combo (produced by Nosaj Thing).

Engine 03-26-2012 11:39 PM

Does anybody still like actual 2-step Garage + Dub?

Dr_Rez 03-31-2012 05:00 PM

RVCA 04-05-2012 08:51 PM

I'm looking for the grimiest, bro-ey-ist, nastiest dubstep out there. I want ridiculous drops that are far too dramatic and frequent. I want it to sound like amelodic horse****. I want it to sound as though a 14 year old with garage band made it after bingeing on skrillex for a week.

Anyone got anything?

Scarlett O'Hara 04-05-2012 10:26 PM

Here's one that made my ears bleed, I'm not going to find anymore for you it's horrible.

So.. I guess not?
Most of this thread is composed of bad recommendations. Maybe the title should be changed to simply 'Dubstep Recommendations' so I can hear something new that's actually good?

It's only bad in your opinion. Remember people hear music in different ways so someone may hate a track but someone else has more of a taste for it.

RVCA 04-06-2012 07:27 PM

Didn't you know? Engine's own ears were a gift from the gods, his taste in music is impeccable and his opinion is law.

Scarlett O'Hara 04-06-2012 07:28 PM

I had no idea, I can't believe I've been so ignorant to his perfect opinions!

It's not like I'm happy about it. Indeed, I'm afraid to doubt my gods-given opinions and you should be too.
Being graced with these ears comes with knowledge that allowing them to succumb to bad dubstep will damn my soul to an eternity of oppression and hellfire.
Now just relax while I wash your feet.

jackhammer 04-30-2012 06:01 PM

I have a half hour mix from Afghan Headspin that has Electro and Dubstep in a delightful mix and this is one of the tracks from it. I really like the old school dance vibe with dubstep thrown in:

Holy mackeral, I love this forum.....liquid stranger! I just posted earlier but I've already found some vague answers along the lines right here. Funny I always wrote dubstep off for being a bit random and tuneless when the term first hit me but now having discovered some of the 'right' artists I'm beginning to feel the vibe :D ...Thanks folks

Scarlett O'Hara 10-03-2012 09:05 PM

Me and my electronica recommendations. Want some?

Are you a Ministry of Sound fan?

DirtyPop 10-24-2012 06:54 PM

Anyone mentioned the new Mala & Submotion Orchestra albums? They are both excellent and offer a different side of dubstep with none of the crappy American 'brostep' that's so popular right now

I am to a degree, some of the cds they put out are utter rubbish with 1-3 good songs. Are you?

I used to be. Ministry of Sound/Dubstep is the biggest thing here, 95% of the music scene. It's everywhere. Main offices are in London and Sydney. So maybe I have something to contribute to this topic after all if anyone wants a taste of how we do it down here. Just need to dig up those records.

It's just not to my taste anymore, but I'm trying to keep an open mind by asking for recs.

DropThaSystem 11-23-2012 06:37 PM

I highly advise everyone to listen to Vanilla. Great recommendations.
