I like Tiesto. His music is just consistently good. Obviously some better than others, but as a whole there’s not much I won’t listen to by him. His best cds (to me) are "Summerbreeze" and "Magik 7: Live in Los Angeles." I'd be a fan of him just because of those two. "Moonshine" is such a hot song!!!

Awful, awful "musician." Probably one of the artists most responsible for the bad reputation Trance currently has. His music is vapid and generic, and his "DJing" basically consists of him pressing play and pumping his fists in the air for a few hours. Really horrible.

Over-rated or not, he has some amazing tunes. My personal favourite has to be adagio for strings..

I personally really like him, hes produced many legendary tunes.
or remixed them atleast
Silence
Adagio for strings

Did anyone go & see him on his 2009 world tour?
i seen him at glasgows SECC on the 18th july.
was one of the best events i have been to, dont know wither that was due to the alcohol or not )
but the atmosphere was great.
tiesto loves a good scottish crowd

You said it all. Living in Tokyo I have seen many many shows including Deadmau5, Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten. I havent seen Tiesto, but if his shows are like any of the other big boys then thier is no talent or skill. Everything is pre-set and pretty bland all together. This takes away from the very essence of DJing. On the fly mixing and live performances also give opportunity to experiment with new music. In theory you shouldnt hear anything recorded unless its remixed. Take Steve Aoki or Shinichi Osawa thier recorded tracks are mediocre at best, but seeing them live was two of the best shows ive seen, they play for the crowd, which is why I support their music today. Im sorry but Tiesto is straight garbage.

Personally I'm tired of hearing about the guy. He's like the poster child for mainstream trance/progressive house. Bleh.

I respect a DJ's skills and don't know anything about his skills specifically, but I still think it's silly how highly rated any DJ can get. I think for the most part people just don't know any better. Meaning everyone likes the same guy and that's why he's so damn popular, rather than people being fans of a larger group of DJs and dividing up the attention a bit. Not sure if that makes any sense. Kind of like how mainstream artists get popular...too many people just take what's fed to them.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I'm pretty sure he played in my village a few days ago...never heard his shit but given the general profile of electro acts my island attracts I'd say he probably blows...hard.
