fav Electronica sub-genre
What is your favorite sub-genre of electronica? There are lots dont be confused. For example house can be fragmented into drum and bass, tribal, and a whole slew of others.
I really enjoy trance, along with house. Alot of people that I know really dont like house, they call it new age disco they do! But I love it. So yes, tell me your favorite Electonic sub-genres. |

I like it all. Yeah I call "House" modern Disco too, or Dance, probably my fav, but there is a whole other spectrum of electronic music that would have to fall under the Jazz genre. One big chunk of it is called ambient. I really like that stuff.

Heh, I dont think I got it the first 50 times.
Ambient. I find its good when your just sitting around, or as backround music when your reading a book or something, but I could never party to that. Its more for a mellow atmosphere. Thats how I generally rate my electronica, if it gets me pumped up and ready to go to a club, then its tops. But sometimes, you just wanna sit down an chill to that.

Exactly. I mean thats what music is for, filling out the mood. You can't be 100% pumped and ready to dance all the time. I've been around a long time. Seen some music fads come and go. Even the genres that are basically eternal go through changes. I happened on modern electronic music by accident and now I'm hooked. You, Eltiraaz, seem to be very knowledgable about this genre. I'm a noobie so to speak. I do know what my ear likes, and it likes the micro-processor generated beats and sounds of 99% of the electronic genres I've been exposed to. When I was younger "House" would be my fav no doubt. Now in my advanced years I lean more to the ambient although I do get in the mood for that driving, high energy beat quite often.

I wouldnt say I'm too knowledgable about it. I really only know alot about the artists that are given alot of play at clubs in my area. There is SO much electronica music out there that its impossible to know everything about it. When it comes my time to pick song of the week, then I will give everyone a taste of my beats.

Trance for sure! Ambient, I am not to sure if this is what I listen to too, but I think it sounds like some of the stuff I like. Not to show of how to break down the music I listen to. Anything fast beat that evolves and doesnt become redudant!
