Help finding ambient tracks

I usually find youtube compilations by searching "chill music" and following recommendations but can't find producers that focus specifically on this type of sound. A lot of the tracks within the compilations don't sound like this one. I love playing video games to this kind of music and would love to find some producers who focus on it specifically.

Any recommendations or suggestions on better ways to find it?

What genre is this?

I love when it picks up slightly around 2minute mark.

Check out Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. The Garden of Forking Paths is a fantastic album.

Thanks Frown. I'll check it out.

Secede is a fantastic solo producer that works in genres similar to this. Thick fantasy sound design with atmospheric interludes punctuated by very memorable melodic sections. His latest full length collaboration with label buddy Kettel was amazing, one of my all time favorite albums.

You're going to have to rebuild this YouTube link, my account is still in no-link mode.

Secede's discography is full of gems. If you like the above link and want more go check out Tryshasla, Vega Libre, and Bye Bye Gridlock Traffic, all full length albums.

^ heh was gonna suggest both Kettel and Secede good shouts.

would also suggest Loscil, Trentemoller, u-ziq, Solar Fields, and Deepchord Presents Echospace off the top of my head. You also might like the collab albums between Fennesz + Sakamoto. The piano in your example is similar.

Yeah I like the ambience in video games as well.

I could recommend this Bruno Sanfilippo & Mathias Grassow but that only sounds like the first part of that song you showed, and it's mostly piano ambience, but some of the tracks on that album that have drone too. That's the only thing I have that is similar.

For something more organic, give Gandalf (seriously!) a shot

I enjoyed this when playing D3. It's a little monotone to listen by itself but great as background music.

Link was muted but I did a search on my own. I enjoy the few songs I heard. Haven't got around to all of it yet.

Listened to "Loscil - First Narrows" full album. Solid.

Also listened to half of "Trentemoller & Smile Cat - Second Life" I assume it's called. Some of this was a little too hype but I definitely enjoyed it other parts were spot on.

Great track. It reminds me of elevator music but on a whole new level. Thanks!
