Gorillaz is an ok band their songs are like weird but the lyrics are good and they have a style like linkin park (mixes rock with rap) only better.
hell i even bought their new cd and its allright

funkomatic500 07-27-2005 01:12 PM

Yeah, they're pretty cool. I don't really know much of their stuff, except for the popular stuff...so I should look in to that..hmmm

.angie. 07-27-2005 01:53 PM

ooh! yes, i love them. can't seem to find their stuff anywhere, but maybe im not looking hard enough. but anyhow, i like them.

Spike*Spiegel 07-27-2005 11:12 PM

How can anyone with grammar like that pass judgement on anything?

hookers with machineguns 07-28-2005 03:43 PM

I don't listen to the Gorillaz, and I hate the turd burgler from Blur, but I do like Del the Funkee Homosapien, whom sadly hasn't even been mentioned once in this entire thread.

Fenixpunk 07-28-2005 03:46 PM

misfits - you shouldnt of deleted your post! it made me laugh and was pretty truthfull IMO.

I did. If you count me disclosing the line-up. I like Del's really early stuff, when he was still DTFH. Deltron was a cool concept album. The beats were hot, the idea of different MC's playing different character's is cool, but Raekwon did it first. I actually think that a lot of Del's flows with Gorillaz are some of his best. I'm also a big fan of Dan the Automator. One of the best hip-hop DJs around. Daman Albarn? I'm not a big fan of his work with Blur, but I have to give him credit for coming up woth the concept for Gorillaz. And this ensemble shows off a better aspect of his creativity.

Dezzy 07-28-2005 04:32 PM

From what I've heard and seen of the Gorillaz, I think they are quite good and would enjoy listening to some of the album stuff.
I like the way allsorts of music is there.

cypress 07-28-2005 10:42 PM

Is Gorillaz even rock or heavy metal?

It doesnt say rock & heavy metal. It says rock and metal.and no there not as been stated millions of times.

Josephine 07-29-2005 04:05 AM

Metal??? The Gorrillaz??? Not meant seriously, is it?
To me they're simple brit pop (mostly). Good though. But I have to confess that I liked Damon Albarn even more by his Blur times.

JHendrix_Rocks 07-31-2005 10:24 AM

i always wondered that, there ok not that great though.

Hmm...I guess they're so big now (The Gorrillaz sold a lot more records than Blur ever dreamed to do) cuz it's far more easy to peg them as this mainstream-thing...

MixedUpKid 08-01-2005 11:01 PM

Awesome band, Awesome beats. Clint Eastwood is a cool song by them.

Spike*Spiegel 08-01-2005 11:15 PM

cmon, get the cool, get the cool shoeshine, get the cool, get the cool shoeshine

_Spinning_ 08-03-2005 02:11 AM

Heh, Gorillaz are alright . . . but I think they're a little over-rated for what they are to tell the truth.

I don't dislike them at all, I think some of their stuff is quite good.

Sorry if someone finds this offensive.

nikhil 06-12-2007 02:05 AM

gorillaz

any gorilliaz fans here?

Bane of your existence 06-12-2007 04:47 AM

Bane of your existence 06-12-2007 10:47 AM

I heard almost a year ago that they are. I don't know any details but they shouldn't be hard to find.

just for kicks 06-12-2007 11:05 AM

yes we can expect one :p: they going into the recording studio in november apparently

Blur plan their return

but back on subject, i find the gorillaz quite enjoyable (not as good as blur)

stand out track are their major hits 'clint eastwood' and 'feel good inc'

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-12-2007 11:21 AM

I wouldn't read too much into the Blur album just yet.

They said the same thing last year about releasing an EP around December & that never happened.

nikhil 06-13-2007 02:29 AM

yeah, hope it happens this time

Bane of your existence 06-13-2007 06:57 AM

Blur > Kid Koala > Gorillaz

But I do enjoy them.

nikhil 06-13-2007 10:14 PM

yesh yesh

jackhammer 06-19-2007 07:15 PM

I like the idea of the GORILLAZ. Kudos to Albarn for an innovative project. Both albums contain pure brilliance and banality in equal measure. they still deserve a place in my collection though.

joyboyo53 06-21-2007 10:02 AM

gorillaz kick ass. both albums offer something different and really good. i really enjoyed both cds. anything damon albarn touches has been gold for me. the good the bad and the queen debut was impressive imo, check it out if you dont have it.

effervescence 06-28-2007 05:42 PM

And don't forget the Monkey opera they're putting on at the Manchester International Festival quite soon - the whole thing looks like it's going to be amazing!

Piss Me Off 06-30-2007 02:25 PM

The first album of theirs is brilliant, i'd go as far as to say Clint Eastwood is one of my fave singles ever. 2nd albums pretty good too.
It was through them i was introduced to Del tha Funkee Homosapien as well, another plus.

joyboyo53 07-02-2007 07:43 AM

i really dig the artwork that is associated with gorillaz. i like the idea of putting more into a band than JUST the music (even though it is enough).

=ladyface= 10-07-2007 04:18 PM

I really want to see Gorillaz live. The whole 3D characters thing looks so cool.

When the first album came around a couple of the singles had remixes being played on the radio instead of the originals but that never seemed to happen with the second album. I wonder why that is. The remixes were pretty good.

Not to be mean, but they dont really belong in electronca section do they?

=ladyface= 10-07-2007 04:59 PM

I think I'd stick them in 'pop' myself but genres always overlap.
