I don't know much about modern electronica, so I can't tell how off-topic this thread has gone, although there are clearly a lot of recs that aren't electrónica. Back in the day, Tangerine Dream came up with some excellent pieces of electronica, although, like many artists in the early days of electronica, they perhaps indulged in too many long drawn out, slow-paced ambient pieces that relied on a lot of cosmic whooshing. These two tracks, on the other hand, show what T Dream were capable of when the took their gloves off:- ..... Something surprising that I learned from MB years ago was this: T Dream have recorded about 100 albums, and jackhammer has almost all of them. I'm not going to listen to 100 albums anytime soon, so if anybody would care to direct me to some other no-nonsense, pull-out-all-the-stops Tangerine Dream rockers like the above, I'd be v grateful. |
As well as virtually every other song on that record. |
^ Thanks for that rec, Frownland. I'll def be exploring that album. :thumb:
Anyone who likes Neu! will prob enjoy Follakzoid too. "Pulsar" is a great instrumental track of theirs, 100% motorik, but as this one is shorter I thought it might be politer to post this one instead:- |

I was driving over the Arizona and New Mexico deserts (via interstate) when this song first came out, so this is pre-nostalgia feels, and before the video below was even made. What an experience. It's a quintessential road trip song like none other for the time when day turns to dusk. Some other songs I picked up during those years have maxed their shelf-life, but not this one. It is my #1 favorite melodic dubstep tune of all time.
I can still loop this all day long. Vid is perfection. |
For my money, music doesn't get better than this:

Wow, really? I'm gonna blow your mind!
*posts any other piece of music ever recorded by any other artist* |
*whistles while counting Mord's money*
