The Say Something Nice About Someone & Make Their Day Thread
With so much negativity around I think it`s time some of the nice people here got some attention instead. So here in no particular order are a list of the people here who make coming here worthwhile for me , some of them I know , some of them I don`t know so well. Feel free to add your own and make someone happy :)
Vanilla - One of the friendliest people I`ve ever met , talking to her is always a pleasure. Boo Boo - The only man in history who could convince me to buy an Emerson Lake & Palmer album (And he did).I have to be honest & say I hate probably 80% of prog rock , but with his enthusiasm & knowledge i`m sure I could knock that down to 75% after a conversation with him. Right Track - Likes football , has great taste in music & a great sense of humour.I wanna buy him a pint. Sweet Jane - If I ever forced to choose to pick one person to buy all my music for me without having to choose it myself i`d choose her to do it. I wish she was here more often. MadeinNY - Thanks to her I have pictures of the gorgeous Amy Nuttal on my desktop , for that I take back everything bad I ever said about her Big3 - Makes me happy when he agrees with me , makes me feel about an inch tall when he doesn`t. Imonlydancing - Makes me think of Bowie , which is a good thing Hookers - I almost think it`s a shame he was made a mod because it means he posts in the music forums less , one of the most straight forward bullsh*t free people on here. Expletive Deleted & IndiElectronica - Have bought new life to the indie forum since Jane & Hookers stopped posting there regually.Which is good because it was rapidly becoming the 'the NME next big thing' forum Murder Junkie - Stick him in the 'blokes i`d like to have a pint with' file SabrinaMaher - Gets a lot of unfair criticism in my opinion , sure she`s guilty of a bit too much spamming sometimes but there`s lots of regulars here that were like that to start with.I`ve agreed with her & disagreed with her & she`s never been anything other than polite.I think she`ll turn into a good poster over time. Satchmo - Best mod ever , you only need to see how much he`s missed to see that. Spike - Just for being her :) I`m sure there are more too |
Crowquill -- For listening to me when I'm all sad and such.
RAR -- Comes off as a nice person. Also has excellent taste in music. ImOnlyDancing -- Is always happy. .angie. -- Because she is my best friend, and I love her. This is all I can think of currently. It's too early to think. |

Misfitpunks/Alexisonfire/Crowquill - The only one I talk to outside of MB. We share advice and music constantly. I'd probably chill with him if he didn't live in Seattle Zealious - I look forward to his music post more than anyones. He gets me into amazing emo/screamo and I get him into amazing metal/hardcore. Best of both worlds. Big3 - Intelligent. Witty. from Boston. I need to say no more. jibber - my fellow terrible person. we'll ski one day. boo boo - same reason as Urban. I don't like much prog. That kid convinces me of it's merits all the time. itchytasty - another awesome music guy. knows his stuff inside and out. i enjoy reading what he has to say. |

ait, imonlydancing, aprilmay, angie & vanilla-quite possibly the most friendliest, nicest people on this forum & pretty much the only people i can tolerate. EDIT: i forgot to add angie! now shes up. feel special. |
ArtistInTheAmbulance - For being there for me in realleh rough patches..recently and i appreciate her support and what not...muchly and for helping me laugh when i realleh needed it.and posting in my HelloGoodBye thread *feels lame*.
.angie. - For also helping me through shiz and putting up with me...for like a year and saying my jacket was hawt. BlueEyedSuicide - For being crazy upbeat and shizz and posting in my threads that get 0 replies... Riseagainstrocks - for warning me when i get to mean/spammy/whatever and being nice about it before i gets introuble. A_Perfect_Sonnet - for helping me make my songwriting 3298472387423 times better. I only have 5 cause i hate you all. |

Even though I don't like it. Big3-See above. BungalowBill-For dissing me in the Rap Battles thread, but being the only one to actually step up and prove he has the bite aswell as the bark. Took guts. It feels so strange to be nice. |
I would like to say how friendly and personable MOST people on this forum are to put up with my relentless spamming and dreadful threads. Honorable mentions go to the following:
Fenix: being an all around friendly guy and helping out the noobz and computer illiterite Misfits: used to be an arch enemy and has now become more open minded and a generally more pleasant person to talk to Sabrina: new friend that started off really annoying but is coming around nicely Urban: thank you for coming back and adding some dry english wit to this extremely serious business of rock and roll. By the way it is never just one pint. Vanilla: she is an all around good sport and currently has a great sig Kashmir: every board needs a villain Wild7duster: being such a burnout hippie pot stereotype I hope in a few months this list gets a lot bigger oh yeah, Hobojesus: I enjoy your posts a lot more now than when you were a noob, keep up the good work |
where to start... i don't know alot of people on here.. but i noticed that the people i do know we all mainly post in the same threads... well kind of..
MUDER JUNKIE --> your just fun to talk to, interesting how neither of us mind being willing and open to talk about random things.. SEX makes a intersting conversation. very nice to chat with. Urban --> You have yet to trash me, and have just commented about things i've done wrong.. smartened me a bit.. for that i'm less annoying to peopel here.. good job.. i used to be on a ave of 61 post per-day, not down to 28 :) MadeinNY --> from day one this duddette was nice to me, welcomed me with open arms and has been very honest about my songs, got me thinking even.. feels good to know someone is out there honest, about bad and good but in a nice way ;) Big3 --> i agree with alot of the stuff you say, you put up strong points. hopfully i will learn from that someday, and post less.... i have nothing more to say! hobojesus --> frist time i came onto this site before i signed on to it, i was reading your post you made me laugh so much.. my eyes were watering..(he pulled me in.. blame him BLAME HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) sorry had to add that there.. Crazy-for being ever so nice and appreciating our PM humour...hehe AITA- for being understandable and a good mod hookers- even though he's never around anymore he's always rather decent to me Jess (IOD)- for being accepting and nice and being my buddy Ethan- even though we don't get along...like not even at all I have a lot of respect for you and your songwriting, you're gunna go places, kid. EDGE- you're so funny and kind and hot and is the only one that can call me confused and make me smile from it hehe all the mods-for not banning me and being extrememly leniant sabrina!!!!- basically the same reason you said about me, lol. You've always been nice to me and are always honest, and for being my second computer wife. lol. spikey- where are you, first computer wife?? :[ you are not around! ever...makes me sad :(...anyway, you're WITHOUT FAIL nice, and ALWAYS find the best in people, or try to. You are always nice to the noobs when they are getting falmed and you probably make them feel better :). MBDT - you know who you are. great times screwing around late at night. *loves how whenever threads like these are posted, he never gets mentioned* its been a good year that ive been here, and i couldnt have asked for better forum members. |

Its 4:30 in the morning here, so I can't be expected to remember everyones name and write something coherent and nice (im only human damn you) but I will say nice things about MB, and then come back tomorrow around 1400 and pay tribute to those I've put up with for some time now:
Music Banter, has some things we could certainly improve on, but on the whole this a community that does alot for those that are apart of it. I've seen people come in here with one band they want to shove down our throats, with no knowledge of other bands or perhaps limited at best, and i can think of three off the top of my head who came in here borderline retarted and green and have become intelligent, respectful and insightful posters. If I ever asked one thing of MB, it would be jsut that, giving people the insight to discover great music for what it is and not be stuck in the rut that is people telling them what to like. The music industry is an ugly place free of risks and longshots. Places like MB have gone along way in telling the music industry to go **** itself.I couldn't be more proud to be apart of it. I fight with alot of people here, I will continue to fight because I honestly feel that alot of **** that goes on here sucks, but when I read the comments about myself, I was honestly proud. You say what you want about how pathetic I am for allowing an internet web site to cause emotional reaction in me, but I love music, I'll die loving music, and if I can share what I have spent my life immersed in with people, then I really feel like im at least giving something of myself. To MusicBanter i'll say this, remember where you came from, we were all less intelligent and less knowledgeble (sp? it's 4:30 sutff it) when we showed up here. The newbs shouldn't be allowed to get away with stuff, but remember that there is potential there. We lost Kasmir, you can't help them all but we tried. But to Sabrinah and CrazyLuv and all the other new ones that are yet to come, stick it out, because you have alot to gain here. Im pretty sure I'm going waaaay to long so I'll cut off here midtought, that and my ****ing eyes are starting to burn from being up to late. right track - suffice to say that i look at threads if you posted in them... never a dull moment with you.... fenix - i like your sense of humor, and you seem like a pretty laid back guy rozi - i love you for being honest and nice, although you're never down for some evilish fun my style, i suppose you keep me in check, and who doesn't love a girl who likes to drink? i think you'll grow up to be a wonderful woman ethan - my kind of guy, fickle, volatile, colourfull character and a talented guy fal - very intelligent, too bad your music tastes don't go beyond death metal the indiebarkid - esentially, as close to my music tastes as it can get, i wish you got that dsl already.... big3 - i'm naturally drawn to people close to my age, and if their intelligent aswell, well.....i like you on many levels, but most of all, i like that you're attached to this site and appreciate it just as much as me.... madeinNY - i think you might grow up to be a great woman, you're a really sweet girl... satchmo - although that bastard is just titillating us at this point, i liked him because his personality seemed just as maniacal and obsessive as mine at times.... riseagainst - i like that you're so mature at 16, more so than me at 23, but i loved it even more when you were being mean for no reason whatsoever.... hookerz - sometimes , i wish you weren't above fucking arround in the lounge, it's all about the music with you.... jibber - out of all the women on this site, has probably the best personality. why? becuase she kicks ass and isn't affraid to call someone a bitch, which makes her my kind of gal..... stu - thank you for clor, forward russia and many more... and i don't feel like writing anymore..... |
Since I joined in June 05 I liked it here. This was my first ever forum.
I love the way someone is always in. Some forums are empty often and even with ppl they can be dull. MB is never boring. The best ppl I've encountered have been................. In no particular order and are conjoured from memory are :- Fenix, Right Track, Pastor, Shaddapanda, Snickers,Addisass, satchmo and the rest are intruiging to say the least. Long live Music Banter and all who sail in her. :) :) |
I would like to update my list. Recently I've been talking to either/or a lot, and can say he is one of the nicest people on this forum, always with an honest opinion (even though he isn't cynical enough=P) Also, I would like to add Fal, simply for the reason that he is possibly the most intelligent guy on this forum. Plus he's scary. And can instantly put me in my place, whatever the conversation.
