well if that's the case, then they're complete ignorant and have no place in any kind of debate. They should stick to cutting out circles of paper with their safety scissors. the fact that britain antagonized the american colonies before the war is not an opinion, its documented historical fact. Yesh, but, British had a reason for taxing them...despite the fact that I'm on the Americans side...Britain was broke and paid for the French and Indian war, which America was part of, as well. And in a way, the americans should've paid their fee.

Though I'm still with them...the British we're just too...antagonizing. lol.

America wanted to make its own decisions from its own parliament. Pitt, the British Prime Minister, told them to go screw themselves basically, and for a laugh started imposing taxes on things like paper. Bostonians tore shít up and threw tea about, those HOUNDS, and we started a fight we never had a chance of winning.

American independence was always going to happen, Britain never had the resources to continue running an empire of such a scale, hence why today Britain controls, well, a rock at the southern tip of Spain, and pretty much bugger all else.

If you want an ACTUAL topic of debate, branching off of british imperialism, there's the lovely subject of the palestine mandate and britains immigration policy regarding isreal leading up to and following the second world war. Now there's a subject that can actually support a debate.
