To answer your question, an NFT is a non-fungible token. It's basically a digital receipt that's recorded on the blockchain (the shared ledger construct that cryptocurrency transactions use) - nowadays, media folks, celebrities and scam artists are widely selling NFTs (representing your ownership of digital pieces of 'art') in a way that could easily be considered a scam - in that they're presenting it as an investment - you buy it now and it gains value over the time, which is most certainly not always the case.
