I had to look it up. It was an Irving Penn photograph produced as a platinum-palladium print, which is apparently why it has that distinct tone. (I'm assuming, anyway, since I'm not a photographer, but based on what I read about platinum prints having a wide tonal range and a matte finish, I guess it makes sense.)
