Oh of course, but that doesn't mean they can't and don't play the type of rock I described.

Strange...
For somebody that doesn`t listen to music on the radio, you do a good job at listening to WHAT gets played on the radio.

Hope you`re not referring to Cannibal Corpse here.

Yes, I do a good job at listening to catchy songs by bands. I couldn't tell you what is being played on the radio these days, but I'll assume it's hits by the radio-friendly bands like Nickelback.

Also, I'm not referring to any particular band when I mentioned Death metal, maybe I should have said Extreme Metal to keep it more open.

Stuff like Belphegor? Thankfully I've never heard those kinds of bands on the radio.

Nu-metal like Staind can get considerable airplay: their single "It's Been Awhile" was around for ages.

I'm the same way. I listen to far more metal, punk, alternative, hip hop, and what not than I do radio music, but I do enjoy some radio music now and again. Even the worst of it. I myself listen to Nickelback and Creed along with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Britney Spears, etc. Not that often, but sometimes I just like to unplug my brain and listen to something that's just plain catchy.

I'll confess to liking a good old bit of Bon Jovi for that very purpose! The hits are all catchy but don't really seem like particularly great music (Some of their other work is deep and beautiful though).

I actually own Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet. Terrible band, but I love them.

Lord yes! Nothing like blasting out a good bit of cheesy hair metal with the windows down. You should see people's expressions when they hear the line "love is a social disease!". I'm not embarrassed about it; I love them!

Nickelback is hated for they're radio hit songs such as "How You Remind Me" and "Someday". But they actually have a lot of good heavy songs
(Because of you, Animals, Never Again, Flat on the floor.. and so on)

Personally Nickelback is one of my favorite bands, and one of the most underrated because they make those ****ty songs that appeal to 13 year old girls and gets played on the radio 24/7. I also hate those songs.

Nah, all their songs are ****ty post grunge/generic crap rock, but it's listenable crap rock. They're at least better than Three Days Grace, although I have the same general level of disrespect for both of them.
