For those who are confused now, these pictures are the new set of questions for the next step in the quiz. Because of the picture posting limit, I had to divide the "questions" up into several posts. Backtrack a couple of posts to find all the pictures, then tell me who they are of!

Good luck! :)

Anyone? .. Oh well, if noone provides the answers the next couple of days or so, I'll post the solutions and make a new set of questions.

Meph1986 03-17-2009 09:34 AM

That would still be pretty good I'd say :)

I don't think anyone's gotten more than 8 rights on a set yet, although the format has changed a few times.

Alright, some more questions!

First - if you answer one - answer all!
And - no cheating - no looking up answers outside the thread!

that said, let's get on with the questions! :)
1. This belgian gypsy jazz artist suffered severe burns over much of his body when he knocked over a candle one night when going to bed. Among other things, his third and fourth finger on the left hand was nearly useless afterwards. Still, he managed to keep playing guitar and is to this day widely regarded as one of jazz's most famous guitar virtuosos. Who am I thinking of?

2. One day in 1983 while driving around on tour, the members of Metallica awoke their lead guitarist, said he was out of the band and dumped him at a buss station - just like that! The guitarist wanted revenge on his former bandmates - and even more so when they used his stuff on their debut album. Not long after, he made his own band to compete against Metallica. Who was this kicked guitarist and what's his band?

3. Because I'm loving it so much at the moment, which early prog band recorded the album Close to the Edge in 1972? The album is widely regarded as the band's magnum opus and was, among other things, voted the greatest progressive album of all time by progarchives in 2006.

4. Eric Clapton's son died in 1991 when he was only four years old and fell out of a window. Eric Clapton with help from Will Jennings wrote a song dedicated to his son. It has since become one of his most famous .. what's the name of this song?

5. Judas Priest are famous for many things musical, but also for their fashion sense. What are they famous for wearing?

6. A famous black american artist who was blind from birth joined Paul McCartney in the studio to record the song "Ebony and Ivory" which at a deeper level than keys on the piano deals with racial harmony between black and white people. Who was this artist?

7. Rob Zombie has gone on from a successful solo career to directing horror movies like "House of 1000 corpses". What is his famous old band founded by him called?

8. A famous artist got punched in the eye at 15 years of age, a punch that caused the pupil on his injured eye to become permanently dilated. Because of this, he is often wrongly believed to have different coloured eyes. Which artist am I thinking of?

9. The Beastie Boys song "Get it Together" from the 1994 album "Ill Communication" features guest artist Q-Tip. The group he hailed from disbanded in 1998. What was it's name?

10. The song "Islands in the Stream" was written by the Bee Gees, but is famously sung as a duet between two american country stars. The single is from 1983. Who are the country artists?
Good luck! :)

khfreek 03-18-2009 02:57 PM

1. Django Reinhardt
2. Dave Mustaine
3. Yes
4. Tears in Heaven
5. They're hell bent for leather
6. Ray Charles
7. White Zombie
8. David Bowie
9. Wu Tang Clan
10. Dolly Parton and the Crosby guy

And I thought I was gonna get 10/10 too :( Fingers crossed for 9?
