Honestly, they say (in not so many words) that we didn't want to get involved until FDR allowed them to bomb us, unleashing Patton and his godless wrath on the pacific theater.

They also then pulled him back to prevent him from invading mainland asia.

I guess germany was involved or something?

what i find is reprehensible is the lack of history which is taught about the war in the far east. THAT was where the atrocities really occurred.

There's even worse atrocities than the nazi extermination camps dotted throughout the occupied eastern european countries?

yup

go read up on the rape of Nanking. also, the Holocaust wasn't even the worst genocide of the era, Stalin cleared out 20M without hesitation.

now that i think about it that's probably why that pie chart looks like it does.

Perhaps you should consider the size of the armies and how well equipped they were (or unequipped, in the case of the Soviet Union).

Plus, the United States had to finish off the Japs. And we all know that they were far more vicious of fighters than the Germans

Why? Would that belittle their sacrifice?

Do we? You mean the vastly outnumbered and outgunned Japs?

As for vicious...do you want me to post the casualties inflicted by German troops on the Russian civillian population?

Make no mistake. The war fought on the Eastern Front was barbaric. Both sides gave no quarter.
