Music library game

I hope a similar game isn't present already; I did a search but nothing came up. OK, here's how it works: I say an artist, and the person below me tells me what (s)he has (if anything) by him/her/them. That person then names another artist.

Name albums (studio, live, compilations), singles, B-sides, bootlegs, demos etc. as you wish.

First artist: The Cure

Guybrush 05-20-2009 04:39 PM

From the Cure, I have : Disintegration, The Head on the Door, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, Three Imaginary Boys and a Greatest Hits collection.

So what kind of bands and artists should we go for? Just something we like? I guess it might be a good idea to stick to artists people might have something from.

My pick will be : Frank Zappa!

Primal Scream

Firstly sorry for stealing your thunder.
I know you aint a big King Missile fan like myself :D

Secondly, I have been into Primal Scream for a long time: have all their albums:

Sonic Flower Groove (1987)
Primal Scream (1989)
Screamadelica (1991)
Give Out But Dont Give Up (1994)
Vanishing Point (1997)
XTRMNTR (2000)
Evil Heat (2002)
Riot City Blues (2006)
Beautiful Future (2008)

They are a great band. The lead singer, Bobby Gillespie was the drummer in The Jesus & Mary Chain (another great band) before he formed Primal Scream.

I always knew they were underrated and always have been, perhaps due to the fact that they change their style on almost every album they put out.

My favourites include 'Screamadelica' (1991) which I have had for a long time.
'Loaded' is pure bliss man.
I also love 'Give Out But Dont Give Up' (1994) 'Jailbird' rocks!

'Riot City Blues' (2006) got me back into them in a sense as I didnt really dig XTRMNTR or Evil Heat that much.
There is a song called 'Accelerator' that is really good though & its on one of those albums.

More recentley I was finishing up on the albums I hadnt got by them yet & 'Vanishing Point' (1997) is excellent.

'Beatiful Future' (2008) I wasnt that keen on, but still an alright record.

Heres some cool vids of them songs I like:
I couldnt find a video for the studio version of 'Loaded' but found something interesting:

Such a great opening riff man- its contageous. I used to listen to this all the time on my mp3 player.

I love the tracks they did with George Clinton on the 'GOBDGU' album. 'Funky Jam' & the title track.

His first album 1983 was a bit more varied. Some of his EPs/12s are nice too. But maybe it's just not your thing.
