The Coryallen2 Debate

Should you the members vote for it I promise to give up some of my valuable time to delete every single trace of this idiot off the forum. Every single post this moron has excreted onto the forum I promise to remove permanently.

The guy is on a final warning and has failed to take any of the advice given to him over the past 3 or 4 months so the permabanning of his account basically a foregone conclusion, so we don't have to worry about that.

So if you'd like me to delete all trace of this bad joke of a member vote YES!

Antonio 06-05-2009 02:59 PM

nah, don't do it

Son of JayJamJah 06-05-2009 03:03 PM

It's important to preserve history, less we might repeat it.

lucifer_sam 06-05-2009 03:06 PM

it's up to your discretion. i don't really care either way.

zeppy111 06-05-2009 03:08 PM

As long as there is no more new material, I don't think there is a huge need to waste your time deleting it.

Sitting on the fence isn't an option if you post in here.

WWWP 06-05-2009 03:08 PM

None of his posts are even funny... it's not even worth reading them to feel better about yourself. I see his username and am instantly annoyed. It might be bitchy of me but I'm voting yes.

it is if i'm saying that it doesn't matter what we think...you're the mods for a reason.

He has a point Urban...

Urban Hat€monger ? 06-05-2009 03:22 PM

I started this for several reasons.

Firstly as a final throw of the dice for this kid to realise just how annoying he is & give him some idea just how many complaints we get about him after EVERYTHING else has failed over the past few months to try and get him to change.

Secondly i'm not going to spend time doing it if only a handful of people want it done. So yes it does matter what people think.

Son of JayJamJah 06-05-2009 03:24 PM

Good enough, the threads will go away on their own after he is gone\reformed

My money is on the former

Sounds fair enough.

I vote delete his posts, then see how he gets on after such a drastic action.
I'm convinced that deleting his posts to date won't have any effect on any threads already made by other members.
If anything they'll appear even less confusing.

Either I'm drunk early or everyone is funny today.

Keep it coming people.

Anteater 06-05-2009 03:32 PM

Well, deleting his posts would definitely free up some space in certain places. Plus we wouldn't be getting worthless threads bumped with useless half-sentence responses all the time.

The yes option gets my vote here.

Freebase Dali 06-05-2009 03:37 PM

I voted yes but realized I jumped the gun when I'd heard all these stories about WendyCal and never had the opportunity to read her posts myself.
But it's just a matter of personal interest, which is irrelevant.

In one hand, some may say "preserve the stupidity so that it may serve as a warning".
In the other hand, some may say "get rid of the stupidity so noobs don't think it's ok to replicate".

Now that I think about it, most of the regular members on this board already see first hand where the stupidity gets you, so ultimately I'd go with option 2.

FaSho 06-05-2009 03:38 PM

At least WendyCal was funny...

Don't turn this thread into a spamfest please. It seems a bit rich to expect him to change when you're all filling up this thread with crap.

Stone Birds 06-05-2009 04:36 PM

This thread is very amusing (I voted...)
if yes, you think i'm drunk
if no, then you know that i have never drank alcohol
this is fun

I'd also add, since you have the chance to vote, and he stays, I know personally I'm going to be less tolerant of complaints about him. As well as spammy comments following his.

Come off it man, this is a bit harsh is it not? What has he actually done? I may have not witnessed much of his antics but I think hes alright to stay.
Put it into perspective, what were you like when you were 16? I know I was annoying, ****y, disruptive. Its just typical of someone his age. I now find 16 year olds myself extremely annoying but to 'delete' all his posts, like another user said, why waste your time? Youd only be adding fuel to the fire by doing that.
The best thing to do if you want him to cool down, is to accept him.

someonecompletelyrandom 06-05-2009 07:14 PM

Cory was a nice guy and I'm sad to see it come to this.

Compromise:
Why not just delete the threads he made?

Because then we're dealing with half of a problem.

Not ours, I do believe it is for the best. I was once like cory on another forum but, I was never banned. Most of his posts seem rather pointless and they do tend to make threads less enjoyable to read/post in.

Surell 06-05-2009 10:33 PM

I voted no but mainly because I didn't absolutely hate the guy.

Scarlett O'Hara 06-05-2009 10:36 PM

Yes, Urban, you can. He's been banned how many times? And he's still posting rubbish. It's embarrassing for this forum.

I have to agree, it's egregious in this instance, the user should be permanently banned. The collective of Music Banter stands to gain a lot more then anyone including the user will lose.

Sometimes things just don't work out, better to cut ties now before it gets real ugly.

Another point:

I think people are voting more against CoryAllen2 then they are thinking the choice through. Who cares if his posts are gone, the damage is done, it's the future posts I'm worried about.

I lol'd.

But yeah, coryallen actually makes the forum less enjoyable for me. I know a lot of us have tried to make him change, but he just won't. Maybe in a few years time, just maybe. But for now clean the slate.

Darkest Hour 06-06-2009 12:26 AM

he has made 150 threads in 4 months. I don't really care if he is banned or you delete his posts. He doesn't get on my nerves.

WWWP 06-06-2009 12:36 AM

Lolrony.

what? I'm surprised he is even aloud back here after making that many threads. And i have made like 10 threads, most which are better than his.

pourmeanother 06-06-2009 12:41 AM

Delete all his posts? This is stupid. From what I saw he was just a young guy who needed some guidance, but instead met 100 members who bashed him every chance they got.

Coryallen detracting from the forums?... there's a thread that links to naked prisoner abuse pictures. But yeah, I'm sure his "trash" like a thread to post new bands in is really making this site turn into rubbish.

His threads are pointless? That's like the pot calling the kettle black (when you make a post like this). Just do it, or don't do it- you don't have to make a fucking thread advertising it.

right-track 06-06-2009 04:29 AM

^ Someone needs to relax a little.

I agree, he is a young man that needs guidance. Unfortunately he's proved to us all that he doesn't want guiding.
If we were to be as hard-line and unfair as you suggest, then corryallen would have gone a long time ago.
It's obvious he enjoys posting and coming here, but it's also quite clearly obvious that his pointless posts and threads aren't being enjoyed by others.

We and countless others have tried everything to steer him in the right direction.
I put him on a voluntary post limit which he couldn't stick to for more than 1 day. He even made an alternative account to dodge around the situation. (perma bannable on it's own)
He's had warnings and infractions for trolling the boards, which have had no effect.
He's had a temporary ban and returned as if nothing had happened. If anything he's got worse.

We could give him a perma ban (which we could have done a long time ago) and within a couple of days the name corryallen2 will be forgotten, or we can give him one final chance. One last wake up call.

If by deleting all his previous posts and rehabilitating his behaviour on MB saves his MB membership, then it will have been worth it.
Especially to corryallen.

He's not being treated any differently to any other member here. If anything he's been given more chances than most.
And like every other member, the fate of his membership is in his own hands.

I don't believe he will change. If he was going to he would have by now. zzz is an example of a member who turned himself around, however I think coryallen is too young and dumb to get that.

I voted for no. I don't care if you ban him or not, he does occasionally get on my nerves. The rest of the time I just ignore him. But I just don't see the point in deleting his posts/threads.
