It'd look much more natural if it was spelled "subfusque", similarly to "kafkaesque".

Yes, grindy, that's true, or "subfuscate" might be another option.
At least it's not just me then - "subfusc" just doesn't look right as it is.

^ No, it was just a quick way to distinguish the "u" sound in "bus" from the "u" sound in "youniversity".
