^What did you do before the military?
|
Quote:
Prior to that, I lived here and there with friends.. enjoying drugs and partying. Prior to that, the parents. |
That's already 4 episodes, before you even join the military.

Being an 18 year old, you generally don't really know much about yourself and your long term goals, so my natural goal was to "vacation" from my previous life of being under the rule of parents. That can last a lot longer than you expect it to... It did in my case, and it was a rough couple years bouncing from place to place with only the desire to party. A lot of wasted time, but I'm glad I did it early enough to get sick of it in time. When I figured out I needed to be doing something for myself, my oldest sister & brother-in-law took me in to their home in Florida and got me on my feet. Got a job, car and an apartment and did that for a couple years. That was the learning experience though... supporting yourself with no one to fall back on. It just got to the point where I knew that if I didn't actively do something, I'd be stuck on the low end forever. The decision to join the military was specifically for me to learn a trade for free (the one I'm currently getting a degree for) and get some sense kicked into me. Some discipline. Best decision I ever made. I don't really know where I'd be if I hadn't decided to make it. It just seems to me that it's a common story. Most of the people I knew in the military had similar ones, and the kids I hung out with prior to that were in the same boat as me. I guess I just kinda assumed most people's lives ran a similar course when they were young. To me, it seemed like getting wise was something everyone did by experience, trial & error... and I look at it as one big episode but with varying landmarks. |
^ I see you as late 20s at least..
|
I'm sorry Freebase, i've only saw one photo of you and you said it was old. So idk.

Aaaaaaight gangsta homies, yo. Imma try and guess some ages, fooz.
ehr, yeah. |
Urban is 55? Hehe. That cancels out the compliment he was paid a few pages back.
|
^55 feels about right to me. I even thought about bumping him up to 60, but then I thought "nah, that would be exaggerating a little bit". He doesn't complain about his bad back much (yet) :D
edit : Oh, and Mr. Dave? At least 37! |

i didn't realize there were so many youngsters here. i'm a terrible judge of age, even in the real world... |
Urban Hatemonger-30

as for the rest of you... i know Sidewinder and Janszoon are pretty much my age so i'll skip them. Freebase - early 30s Jackhammer - late 30s Right Track - early 40s Lateralus - late 20s Tore - late 30s everyone else strikes me as being about 17-19 and it really weirds me out to find out some of you are younger than my Strat. |
Most of the time I think I can tell how old most people are as long as they are 18+...younger than that and I think I suck at judging. I've been mind blown several times by finding out some of you are 14.

My mother only reached that a couple of years ago. |

No way Urban is 24. I'd bet large sums of money on it.
I stick to mid-30's for him. |
Perhaps, but I think mid 20s. I just have a feeling. 24 I'm sticking with.
|
I got told I look 27 the other day.
*walks out of thread* |
The plot thickens..

Nope, never seen them.
Maybe I'm wrong, he just has an air of a mid 20s bloke. Youthful exuberance.. |
I actually get the middle aged vibe from him, to be honest. The whole, "I know what I like so **** you" thing seems like an old guy trait.
|
Maybe 34 years of age? I'll up it by 10 years.
Some young people "know what they like", but what they seem to like is ignorance. |
That's why I said that...the fact that he can back it up with infinite musical knowledge has to put him in his 30's somewhere.
|
James isn't musically ignorant and he's 14, so it's hard to tell by how much musical knowledge a member has.
|
Well....James is weird. No 14 year old should know that much about music. Is this a product of the internet? Parenting? Is he a child prodigy?
Seriously, it's not normal. |
I discovered porn about the age of 14, the only way I knew how to get music was Limewire, and they were all individual songs. I had about 300 songs at the age of 14. He's weird.

To answer the question so handsomely put in the title: 5.
|
UB acts his age, he's 16 both mentally and physically. Although I did imagine him bald.
