The best ways: you're actually informed about politics and can back up your takes and opinions with information and data.

The worst ways: Your takes aren't always great (i.e. I don't always agree with them - don't we love subjectivity?). That said, you provide much needed pushback for the many lefty larpers we have here on MB.

How old would you put me at?

TheBig3 10-11-2020 09:04 PM

You know I hadn't considered it, but based on zero research and whatever I can remember I'll go with 24

You're goddamn close. I'm 25.

This was how I could tell that Merit was in his 30s without even asking.

TheBig3 10-11-2020 09:10 PM

Ay! Not as dumb as I look, huh? I should play the lottery.

What region of the US are you in?

It is, after all, a fairly clear indicator of someone who has taken time to form their opinions with both data and real world experience. It doesn't always mean they're correct, but it does correlate with age, or at least, I believe it does.

I'd put you in the mid 30s range as well. You and Big3 often have spats but it is clear that you have taken time to consider and formulate your viewpoints.

I'm a New England boy, just like you are. The difference is, I'm a resident of New Hampshire and not a Mass-hole (forgive my tiring and atypical characterization, I've just spent too much driving time with Mass drivers).

For what it's worth, I don't envy you. I've driven through Boston once, and it was hell for me. Cyclists coming out of nowhere, confusing roads, unreliable GPS pointing me to parking garages, etc. If my wife wasn't a Mass native who loves the Boston aquarium, I'd have never ventured into that seventh circle of hell, but here we are. In the future, I'm taking the subway from a distance and avoiding driving right into the city like a lunatic.

Do we? Jesus I have no idea how I'm perceived here.

Oh yeah. Tell me I'm wrong and that you and Frown just get along swimmingly on 90% of any given topic.

P.S. Boston Lager is my go-to draft beer at bars. Serious love for Sam Adams - but as you may know, I've tired of all the Patriots fans around me. This resentment has festered to the point that I've become a die-hard Chiefs fan. I hope Tom Brady has success in Tampa and I hope Cam Newton and Belichick sputter out in flames of disappointment.

No it's true, statistics used to "back up" a stance don't represent real world experience or time spent considering that idea. You can develop a seemingly well-informed post for any stance with some simple googling.

I was referring to your proclamation of your age.

No I mean I know what you're getting at, I just didn't see it as defining either of us.

I'm not a sports guy, so I can't help you. But speaking of Sam, I hope you caught Bill last night.

I wasn't trying to define you or Frown. I was simply characterizing what I saw as the beautiful relationship you have with each other on MB.

Thanks for that link, that's some funny ****. I'm a big Bill Burr fan and I did catch a couple of his SNL segments on Youtube today, but not that one (his opening monologue gave me a good few chuckles). Most of my family considers me somewhat of a beer snob (bunch of amateur Coors Light drinkers they are), but I didn't mind the new Jack-O beer. I'm not typically a big fan of pumpkin beer, but the Jack-O is not bad - definitely not something I'd want year-round though, you can't replace the Boston Lager.

Plankton 10-12-2020 09:14 AM

I'm a Gen-X'er, but my MOS in the Army was 55B, so I'm both.

Frownland 10-12-2020 09:43 AM

Differentiating that you're a gen x-er is so boomer.

Plankton 10-12-2020 09:54 AM

So is blowing shit up.

The Batlord 10-12-2020 09:57 AM

Like bathrooms.

Plankton 10-12-2020 10:21 AM

Yup. I plan on being a boomer right after lunch.

You'll never be a Naruto Runner with numbers like that. Also, Studio 54 would like to have a word with you.
