My best friend is gay and he never understand why many gays choose to speak with the feminine lisp and such. Is that what you mean? How they purposely change the way they speak?

I am talking about the lisp and the feminine ways. I live with a gay guy. I knew he was gay since the very 1st second I found him on facebook, before I even met him. If I saw him on the street, I would automatically assume he is gay. Same goes for a lot of people at this school (liberal arts school, go figure).

I am trying to say that alot of people will say things like "gay guys are soo annoying!" They say this because to a lot of straight guys, including me, the general sassy behavior and drama that a lot of gays have is really annoying, as is the feminine voice too. But they aren't really against someone being gay. If there was a gay dude who liked the same sports and video games and all that stuff, then I doubt there's be a problem.

See what I am trying to get at? It's not that they are gay... it's that they are annoying, and happen to be gay. It's not just because they like the same sex that people are annoyed. The ones who hate gays because they are gay are generally bible thumpers and religous folk.

Eh, depends. Never knew many gays, all the ones in my highschool and stuff were annoying. I live with a gay guy now. I knew from the second I clicked on his facebook before meeting him that he was gay, its pretty obvious. But he isn't real dramatic or sassy, I think he's pretty funny. I usually close the door to my room though when he has his girl friends over. It's like a 15 year old girls bedroom over there. Lots and lots of dancing and loud pop music and gossipping about sex. Excessive laughter by everyone involved. Overall though he's pretty cool and I like him.

I understand where you're coming from when you say "feminine gay guys are annoying", but look at it this way: imagine being a gay man and trying to find a partner? I imagine it's incredibly difficult, considering estimates put homosexuals as anywhere from 5-15% of the population. Now imagine being a gay man who seems completely straight. Getting into a relationship just became astronomically harder, if you're not into using the internet and/or going to gay bars.

TLDR: I'm sympathetic towards feminine gay men because I know they're not just flaunting their sexuality.

My boss is gay, and there are tells, and its not a secret or anything, he's cool.

On the other hand, one of the gay guys I knew at university was an annoying attention whoring prick, and he was the campest man alive.

I think its a person to person thing.

In conversations with gay men, I've been told that part of the flamboyance is... overcompensation, I guess, in being able to really express that side of one's personality--that it's something one tends to grow out of as one becomes more comfortable in the self.

I can't speak to the experience of a gay male (perhaps someone else could better), but it seems observationally true based on those that I've known.
