Totally unrelated question, but is "Nr." the Norwegian version of "No." or something? Just curious. I've never seen it used before.

Yeah, it is. I actually thought it was the standard abbreviation.

No, Nr. or # are "Number" in Dutch too. And "Number" in dutch is "Nummer". So I haven't got a clue why we use 'no.'

Yeah, it's also "nummer" in Norweigan. Where is that "o" in the "no." abbreviation supposed to come from? :p:

the o for no. comes from numero

numero like in the latin version of number also from /spanish/italian.
