Google. <3

Oh, Google, definitely. Back in the days before Firefox broke down for me (so about a week ago) it had Yahoo as the default search bar, and I couldn't stand it. Google cuts the crap and just gives you straightforward search results, whereas engines like Bing and Yahoo seem to throw completely unrelated results at me. Worst search engine? Kiwee, easily. All their links are basically links to the same search in another engine.

I don't think I'll ever use anything besides google... it's in our vocabulary for Christ's sake. Google has search engine monopoly any day.

I still use Google, but I've found Google's reliability has declined steadily over the last few years. At it's original release, it was speedily efficient, intuitive, and did a great job figuring out what you wanted. But now I have trouble getting the results I want unless I really, really take advantage of "quoting things" and +terms, -terms, and even then...
Something changed with google, with youtube (since they merged), in their programming/algorithms me thinks, especially since they've blown up into the mainstream. But don't know what to do... |
On a somewhat related note to the subject of this thread, I just recently discovered that Alta Vista still exists. I don't think I've heard of anyone using that one since some time in the 90s.

^^ Lol! I just googled hot bot (the very first search engine I ever used, back in the mid 90s) and apparently that one still exists too, although it uses yahoo as the search engine. Ah....sweet memories.

I used to use this one wwwaaaay back in the day. All I could remember was that it had a black dog logo and not what it was called, so obviously I googled it.
