Default The Salami Education Thread

Because of my youthful an innocent nature, there are many things about the internet and life I and many others here won’t know. This thread is where I shall ask all my pertinent questions, and you can feel free to post some sarcastic or malicious responses, or ask your own if you feel like it.

1. I know how to use spoiler tags on here, but is there any way of using them OFF Music Banter, such as in a Word document?

2. Don’t you just hate that feeling when you come out of the shower completely wet, but then suddenly realise there’s not a towel in the place at all, so you either have to put on your clean clothes while still wet, or dash naked back to your room? Is this a defect in me or a problem common to all humans?

3. Is it wrong to post online naked whilst having that experience?

4. Is being ginger a sin I am accountable for?

5. Why is it that despite sprouts being so universally loathed are universally consumed?

6. Why is it that no matter how much running I do, I never get any better?

7. Are there any fit girls online here in my age range (17+) in the Manchester / Sheffield area?

I think it's because sprouts, being slightly bitter and typically a bit of a mouthful to the little people, generally has a lot of appeal to many adults who think they delicious (I love them) while being generally loathed by children who don't like the flavour and their mouthfulness. Adults who are not particularly adventurous when it comes to vegetables will remember their loathing of the brussel sprout when they were kids, so it becomes a love or hate thing.

I personally think brussel sprouts are amazing. For a snack, you can try cutting them in half and fry them gently in a pan along with some whole cloves of garlic and then sprinkle some salt and pepper over them.

Its all to do with diet, how well you sleep and liquid intake (plenty of water) before and after.

Some people run and gradually get better and stronger, but to get even better requires more discipline and work. I'd say anybody that goes out running 2 or 3 times a week and runs for about an hour on each ocassion at a good pace is fit.

I love Brussel Sprouts, I used to call them mini-cabbages when I was little haha.

1. Spoiler tags cannot be used outside of forums as far as I'm aware.

2. Happens to me too.

3. Yes. Now I'll always wonder if you're secretly naked.

4. When you're young it is yes but you will soon learn when you're older girls love hawt gingers. I am a fiend myself.

6. You probably never regularly run. You'll do some running for a good 2 weeks, not notice any changes and quit? I dunno but I always notice a change in my stamina after a very short period of time, stamina is so easy to build.

7. NAW.

The inspiration for asking this was reading this article a while ago, and not really knowing quite what to make of it!
Strangely enough, I didn't really have a problem with them at all before reading it, but when I tried to notice the flavour a bit more I really noticed the bitterness, which probably reflects a bit on the psychological side of the whole issue that I think wasn't really given enough attention in the article: if you are expecting something to taste strange, then it's far more likely to.

That's the strange part about me, I really don't like frying vegetables (apart from potatoes) for some reason. I have the same problem with mushrooms: I adore them raw, but I can't stand them cooked or fried. I think the fat from the butter must put me off.

I run for three sessions during the week, which each last for an hour, and once over the weekend, which lasts a couple of hour if I'm in the mood.
I've been doing this for years, but I'm still a fairly average runner, although recently I qualified for the under 21's Manchester County cross country team (barely!).
You have a point with the liquid intake, I find it to be a real problem and very inconvenient to carry.

I've noticed it's only ever guys that ever make fun of my hair, every girl I've ever talked with about it is always really nice about it. I bet the lads are just jealous.

- You can paste the BBCode into a Word document to post something with spoilers on the forums at a later date, but it wouldn't actually show up as spoilers in your Word document, as far as I can tell.

- I always have a towel handy before I take a shower. That seriously has never happened to me, unless it was a blackout drunk shower and I totally forgot.

- I don't think so, although I personally would feel weird sitting naked in a computer chair.

- No, nothing wrong with being a ginger.

5. Why is it that despite sprouts being so universally loathed are universally consumed?
- I personally like them. Then again, they're very, very popular in the American South, and would be a side vegetable with school lunch at least 3 days a week. That and fried okra.

- You've probably been building endurance. When you do that, it doesn't control so much increases in speed, explosiveness, or any of that. It just makes it mainly so you have the cardiovascular health to run a given distance. If you add resistance to your training - e.g. running with a parachute, weighted vest, etc. - you'd likely be able to increase the speed and explosiveness, at least a little bit. I did that (weighted vest) for softball conditioning, and went from fourth slowest sprinter on the team to third quickest from my freshman to senior years.

Probably the only real way, just have the [spoiler='example'] - text - [/spoiler/] pasted into word, I guess. That could then be used in forums afterwards.

Haha, I never said anything about it not being weird
I think there's something uncomfortable about my skin touching leather in general though.

That's the other aspect of this I suppose, playing a sport in general like softball isn't really so much long distance endurance as short bursts, which in itself must help.
The difference is that by training you can supposedly increase the distance you are able to run for, but with sprinting it is harder because you're relying a lot more on your physiology, which is not very easily changed by training.

In essence, I'm essentially using this music board for the purposes of sex, which I think is a privilege restricted to the mods.
Never mind, there's got to be a few Manchester babes out of the 55,000 registered users here.
Although from what I know of my local area, girls here aren't into internet forums that much.

Well it depends if there are people in the house at the time. If I'm solo at home, then I'll just take a leisurely stroll to my room. If they are home I'll do a little cover up with my clothes, no need to dash.

I think that they are pretty good, but I'm a good chef, and I make them tasty. Maybe this universal loathe for this vegetable is because of years of bad cooking.

You probably are not noticing it, but I am not too well versed in running, I get all my cardio from bicycling.

Worst thing ever, especially when I was still at home. Fortunately now I have my own place and the only other person who lives here is my boyfriend. He's already seen everything he needs to see so I just ask him for a towel

No! So many people dye their hair red so they can look as hot as you real gingers. But did you know red hair is considered unattractive in Southeastern Europe (like Serbia, Croatia, maybe Greece)?

WTF are you talking about? I love sprouts - bean sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, Brussels sprouts (although I think those are called "sprouts" because they are small even when fully grown).

You're probably building up endurance. I wouldn't know, though. I don't run.

Well I've never been to Manchester or Sheffield, or the UK in general, so I have no idea what girls look like over there. But I'd say that you're probably out of luck.

1. I know how to use spoiler tags on here, but is there any way of using them OFF Music Banter, such as in a Word document?

Google is your friend.

2. Don’t you just hate that feeling when you come out of the shower completely wet, but then suddenly realise there’s not a towel in the place at all, so you either have to put on your clean clothes while still wet, or dash naked back to your room? Is this a defect in me or a problem common to all humans?

Always go equipped Salami, it doesn't bother me too much if nobody else is about, but I guess it's not really appropriate in a family environment.
Do you feel secure with your naked appearance?

3. Is it wrong to post online naked whilst having that experience?

No. We're all doing it. Even me, the reputable Caaant.

4. Is being ginger a sin I am accountable for?

No, being ginger just makes you more of an individual, and more prone to skin burn. Hair colour is a ridiculous thing to get abuse for.

5. Why is it that despite sprouts being so universally loathed are universally consumed?

People are hypocrites. Why do the girls with the slaggiest reputations and most STI's always have multiple partners when their exploits are well documented?

6. Why is it that no matter how much running I do, I never get any better?

Because you are not testing yourself. Run further, go harder.

7. Are there any fit girls online here in my age range (17+) in the Manchester / Sheffield area?
