Yeah, that anyway.
One might call you and Exo (and me, by extension) hipster for liking weird music and films. (And, let's not kid ourselves, you also have a moustache.)
I always thought hipsters were defined as some kind of wannabe who likes stuff that he considers weird but is actually liking pretty mainstream things with the selling point of being apparently weird.
Plus all that fashion with skinny jeans, lumberjack shirts and whatnot.

If there were only a set of rules that we can abide by. It's just so goddamn hard to keep up with. I buy a f*cking nice pair of sunglasses and all of a sudden they're hipster glasses. It's stupid.

The way I see it: If you're comfortable with you, you're not hipster, you're you.

The only sunglasses I can imagine being hipster are extremely ugly sunglasses that are being worn ironically.
For example those round ones.

Damn, I used to wear those...

Right, but there are examples where somebody should definitely be labeled a hipster.

That guy is a f*cking hipster.

I don't care if I'm called a hipster by you guys or people in my life. I look like a hipster. I have hipster traits. By all accounts, I am a hipster.

The thing I was getting at was more self realization. I didn't plan to dress this way or like the things I like because I felt I should in order to fit in or make myself look cool. I like the things I like. Just like you or anybody else does. Do those things make me hipster? Apparently they do. I just don't understand any of the reasoning behind it and I was discussing it openly.

If everybody decided to call dogs chickens, eventually dogs would just be called chickens and that'd be the end of it. You become the minority if you don't call them chickens. What I'm saying is that I just don't see the reasoning on why everybody is calling dogs chickens.

EDIT: I'd also like to acknowledge that I explained myself rather poorly during this entire ordeal.
do you really think that the people around you have no affect on you whatsoever?

and before anyone comes in with the typical, boring, "thats a strawman" type response

nah it's not

cause to say hey i just happen to dress the same way many other people my age dress without having derived any influence from the rest of those people = the same as saying you live in a bubble, on an island, unaffected by any other humans whatsoever

Nowadays the term 'hipster' just seems so derogatory that it should fall under the same category as using the word "gay" to describe something bad; like "thats gay". I never really liked the term 'hipster' in the first place, but nowadays it just seems to be used more as an insult than anything else.

You means these?

If so, that's what I was talking about. Not too long ago, these glasses were bought because they were cheap and did the f*cking job. Now if I buy a cheap pair of sunglasses at a highway rest stop, I'm making a fashion statement. I can't win.

Maybe he was once at some bad fashion costume party at a gay club.
And then this photo got out and now the poor guy is the poster boy for hipsterism.

If I wore a Big Bird costume for most of my adult life and then all of a sudden Big Bird costumes became ironically cool, would that mean that I'm the same as the new people who are wearing Big Bird costumes?

Your psychology is fine dude. Your logic is f*cked.
