Does anyone feel like contributing to another creative writing competition? I'm just making this thread to feel out how many interested participants we would have and we can discuss details about what we would want to do with it in this thread.

Maybe if someone felt like doing a theme. In the past I have normally been against themes because I feel like it restricts people's creativity and ideas that they may already have on their own but if the majority wants a theme. We can work towards one.

I wouldn't mind being in control of this competition and getting it up and running once we have enough people.

I'm down. I'd prefer not to have themes for your reasons plus I like some diversity.

Erotic romance. (Basically, porn for girls.)

I thought you taught an English class though? Is that the type of content you have your students write?

I also teach for a living.

As for my students, what do they have to do with my writing?

Okay we have four so far including myself. I feel like five min. Is good to start this up then we can start talking deadlines.

Just prose or poetry as well?
Not sure I'm able to actually write either in English, but I might try if I'm in the mood.

Yes all forms are welcome. Whatever you can come up with.

Poems, short stories whatever floats your boat at the moment but nothing too long. Exo what is a good max limit? I don't remember the guidelines from the past competitions. I will have to look that up.

I'm so good at procrastinating that I started working on a story twenty minutes ago and got distracted by looking for and applying for jobs.

Can there be an editor for this. I'm sure you guys have noticed that my grammar sucks. So just somebody to read through them and help fix grammatical mistakes.

We have never needed an Editor in the past and that's extra work that I don't feel like doing but if you find someone that wants to look over your work and proofread/edit it then be my guest.

Just know that I won't be doing it.

Okay so,

The rules

Let's set a limit of 3,000 words or less. Key word in that sentence was less.

All work must be titled for organizational purposes and for discussion.

You have until Sunday the 31st of July to turn in your pieces. Send me a link to your completed piece via (Google docs, paperbin.com, pastebin etc) no later than midnight of the 31st, give or take whatever your time zone is. I will then post them in a separate thread but without mentioning the names of the respective authors. A poll will be added and after a week of polling the winner will be announced. Anyone can participate in the thread.

I will write my own piece but obviously since the pieces are being turned into me. I will abstain from voting.
