I just felt like poking the bear. Idk ish about your old ppl music or what goes into the entire creation process. I dont even play an instrument. How long are we talking between regular radio play and on the shelves? It just seems strange to me even if they had been around for 2 years that theyd have heavy influence cause i generally attribute that kind of recognition as more of a long term thing. Im sure their success was inspiring but to heavily influence? Sounds almost surreal.
LZ:Black Sabbath :: Nicki Minaj:Iggy Azelia, seems more appropriate than heavily influenced. Idk maybe im just arguing semantics or the culture gap has me in the fog.

DWV: The world was so much smaller back then. When something created a major buzz it had a huge impact because you weren't constantly being assaulted with flashes in the pan via TV, radio, internet, social media, etc.

So black sabbath formed, created a LZ inspired album and had it on shelves in 13 months? I think you have to be around a lot longer than that to be a heavy influence.
Also there are examples of artists who influenced others yet put their debut album out later.
Which sounded absolutely nothing like the original. Which was not a power ballad. Come on man. Actually one of the best examples of Zep taking what came before them and ****ing rocking the god damn **** out of it.

I think it just speaks to the nature of power ballads and how we should try to forget that such a thing ever happened to music.
