There really isn't beef. We just noticed an escalating pattern of anger and tenacity and thought a week time out would be best.

Like Exo said, basically Hawk's usual belligerent behaviour was just escalating and the mods reacted to that, it's something that has been going on slowly for months. The only part were Bat came in was just making some ill-timed snarks here and there to stir up the fire. I think Hawk suspected much more behind that than was really there, but no beef was intended on either side afaik. I'm fond of Hawk though, belligerent or not; he has a good heart.

Respect. But Batlord and OH projecting their insecurities is hardly a story. They **** on each other, everyone laughs. OH happens to get banned and also happens to leave for a period of time after the ban (probably protesting the man).

I didn't say it was interesting I said they should squash it. Then the mods tried to tell me there is no beef to which I called BS. Try to keep up.

no I'm being sincere. When I think there's beef I confront it and try to make people talk it out, Hawk can attest to that. Neither ban had anything to do with Bat and Hawk calling each other a nonce (and neither conflict started with that either I think), that's just a circumstance that kept popping up because Hawk blew it out of proportion and Bat kept snarking about it, but the issue went much further back than that. I can't speak for either Bat or Hawk, but I think apart from resenting being called a nonce they weren't out to get each other.

What was posted that got him banned specifically?

It's a bunch of deleted posts and pm's, none of which were interesting or involved Bat.

Just to be clear, if my judgement is off and Hawk or Bat (or anyone else) feels they have beef I'm hereby offering my humble mediating services.

maybe i haven't kept up with all the interactions. But I think I've seen most. Bat or OH could shine a light on this, but I don't think there was real beef. Both of them are ****-talkers.

It seems like nothing but locker room talk to me. I don't think either of them have real beef.

Alright well as far as I can tell they have beef and both times that OH were banned were preceded by all argument over who was more creepy/chomo. You won't say what was in the deleted posts but last time OH was named Batlord came right out and said he's gonna blame it on me before anything had even been said. Then they got in the same exact argument about who is more creepy in my comedians thread and shortly after he was banned. If you don't see a pattern there then I really don't know what to tell you. You sound like a manager right now lol. Nothing to see here folks just move along...

nah I think you're reading my tone/intention wrong because that's not at all what I'm trying to do. There's nothing mysterious about the situation and I'm not trying to sweep anything under the rug either. I think that comment from Bat came from the fact that Hawk had been blowing things out of proportion, saying Bat was trying to get him banned and playing me. I see the pattern, like I said it was the immediate circumstance escalating those final conflicts, but it wasn't at the root of the issue, and I don't think they had serious beef either. But I can't be sure, of course you'd need to ask them

I have to disagree with you. When the same exact argument pops up a week later that tells me exactly what was boiling under the surface. In a completely unrelated thread. A thread about comedy. And OH commented that people who say yikes and rapey are generic, in response to a video I posted, pretty much completely missing the actual humor in the video and just latching on to a point that he could use as a subliminal attack at batlord. Batlord correctly decodes said subliminal attack and responds straight up with no you're an actual chomo and then we're off to the races. Everything that happens after that is just a continuation of the fight that was squashed a week earlier. This is how I saw it and since I'm not hearing any alternatives other than vague gestures to deleted posts I can't read, that's the story I'm sticking to till someone gives me a better one.

Also, since when did "having a beef" turn into "having beef"? The latter really sounds like we're talking meat. I'm trying to keep up with American slang.

OH was obsessively pestering a 14 year old girl and when I pointrd this out he tried to turn it back around on me by bringing up a rimjob joke I made to TH in a thread she happened to be in. These are not equal arguments.

I think everyone should leave the forum, log off, and then when he comes back he'll be all like "Guys? (ECHO GUYS GUYs GUys Guys...) Where is everyonnnnnnneeee....?"

I'm not the one saying we don't have beef. We regularly go through periods where at least from my perspective OH goes off the deep end of rationality and every political or social discussion he becomes a part of turns into a nonsense screed I feel the need to push back on because it's frustrating to see him advocate genocide or side with whichever politician happens to appeal to him on any given Wednesday or push back on intersectionality because what the **** ever, and it builds up and eventually I'm just engaged in open warfare with him because we're both hotheaded trolls.

This time it just "ended" with a more personal issue. I'd love to think he had no ill intentions and was just subconsciously engaging in "questionable" behavior he'd never move any farther with but when he then tries to say no you're the pedo then yeah my frustration is going to multiply.

You don't see that as just a defensive lashing out on his part? I read the beginning of the thread you cited and I saw him being extra as usual and not having the best social skills but I didn't see any perving going on. He just seemed to get ultra competitive about his music knowledge.

Yeah it's obviously defensive lashing out but I've never seen him glom onto any other newbie like he did the 14 year old girl who was open to recs. It seemed to me like he was trying to create a sort of intimacy with her that I've seen him sort of try with other female members of the forum but who were adults with a level of maturity where they aren't pliable to his overtures.

I know that's not entirely fair, but I'm saying it goes much further back than Bat's involvement, which you have been a witness to also.
About the grooming thing, I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. You can trust the mods to keep an eye on that. I don't want that discussion to get out of hand for reasons I mentioned before.
