All correct: either you guys are getting better at this or I'm making them too easy.

So we go again.

Song 1

During a journey across mountains in the south of Ireland
I chanced upon a certain member of the forces of law and order
And he was totalling up his cash.
My initial reaction was to produce one weapon, then the other
And demand of him to surrender his riches to me
Or he could go to Hell.

Answer: "Whiskey in the Jar" by Thin Lizzy

Song 2

I do not stand but I anticipate a forthcoming event
Is it possible that a heavenly messenger is thinking about my destiny?
And are we aware of the destination of affection as we age?
Because it has been made known to me that rescue allows them to extend their flying appendages
Therefore as I lie awake contemplating many things and I believe affection to have passed on
On the contrary, I am being amorous with spiritual beings.

Answer: "Angels" by Robbie Williams

Song 3

I am puzzled by this, the contest begins
In respect of the normal payment as well as gratuities.
Secret data, is in a journal
This case belongs to me, it is not for public consumption.

Answer: "Private Investigations" by Dire Straits

Song 4

Merely a young lady from a minor city, existing in a world without friends
She boarded a train at the witching hour, not caring for her destination.
Only a young urban lad, brought up in the state of Michigan
He also boarded a train at the witching hour, similarly unconcerned as to where it would take him.

Answer: "Don't Stop Believin'" By Journey

Song 5

Contemplate the absence of Paradise, it isn't so hard once you have a go
No dark realm underground while nothing above but the firmament.
Contemplate everyone existing for this day.

Answer: "Imagine" by John Lennon

Song 6

It's slightly amusing, my inner emotions
Not being someone who is very good at concealment
I'm quite poor but if I was rich I would purchase a large domicile in which we could co-habit.

(Yeah, I know: I'm strugglin' here now)

Answer: "Your Song" by Elton John

I say, younger sibling!
Double-barrelled weapon!
It's a pleasant day to recommence.
It's a pleasant day for a pure marriage.

It didn’t have an answer under it.

Yes, you're making them so easy that even I can work some out!

Spoiler for Songs 3, 5 and 6:
Song 3: that Dire Straits one, Private Investigation?
Song 5: Imagine
Song 6: Early Elton John; Your Song, I think

I thought song #1 was going to be Arthur McBride, but it's not a fit after all. Still, it was a great excuse to listen to this one more time:-

Thanks from me too, TH - this is a fun (and challenging!) game.
Funny - when I overthink the encrypted lyrics I get nowhere, but when I relax a bit sometimes the answer comes to mind.

You're right. I apologise. Missed that one out. Worse, as I tried to post it up it became, for a moment, "White Wedding" by Billy Joel! Can you imagine?

All three correct. I'm trying to make it harder (ooer!) so expect some brain-strainers in the next set, of which I have three already written.

Robbie Williams - "Angels"

I cheated by googling a line on this one (i.e., "Could it be that an angel is thinking about my fate?") - and up popped Robbie (ooer).
