The thread doesn't require those who respond to like the songs they post, so that's cool I'm not exactly proud of the fact I know the two songs involving David Crosby that I mentioned in my most recent post in this thread.

No shame in it either. I enjoyed the Pop-Up Video version too, years ago.

If I was Madonna I wouldn't invite comparisons to a 10/10 Lennon masterpiece

Tom Waits has a Hold On on Mule Variations.

I have a real good one, both from 1979 (and also a Bowie cover of Tom Verlaine's song, recorded in 1980 for Scary Monsters). The Pere Ubu song is amazing, though apparently was originally named "Jehovah's Kingdom Comes!" because, well...

Quote:
Thomas was briefly a Jehovah's Witness in the late 1970s,[7] an affiliation that was reflected lyrically in the final song of Pere Ubu's 1979 album New Picnic Time, originally titled "Jehovah's Kingdom Come!"[8] In subsequent releases of the album, the song was renamed "Hand A Face A Feeling" and then "Kingdom Come";[9] in the album's lyric sheet, maintained by Thomas on Pere Ubu's official website, the titular line was changed to "God's Kingdom Come";[10] the song was also edited for their compilation Architecture of Language 1979-1982.
