He is what the Byrds could have been if they hadn't broken up. I love me some TP.

Listening to a really great boot from the 06 tour.

Man, I wish I'd had the money at the time to check that out.

BTW...he was incredible at the Superbowl halftime show. I've never seen anyone that is so comfortable and confident on stage.

Into the Great Wide Open's a very good album and, I don't care what anyone says, Free Fallin' is immense! His work with the Traveling Wilburys aside, I don't listen to much more of his stuff though.

Most of Tom Petty's stuff is pretty good, including the Traveling Wilburys and Mudcrutch, but his best work was the voice of "Lucky" on King of the Hill.

I also got Free Fallin', but it came out a little fuzzy.

I watched him on TV last week and realized that I hate his music just about as much as I hate his 'Bob Dylan' sounding voice.
I will admit though, I love to drink beer with my friends and see who can do the best imitation of Petty's voice, while his music is playing over the stereo.
There are always a couple of (drunk) idiots willing to give it their best shot.
