I suggest everyone listen to Twilight (song) or XO (album). He's really good, one of the few indie artists I like.

TheBig3 12-02-2005 09:07 PM

is he smiling in that photo?

EDGE 12-02-2005 09:08 PM

mmyes, I believe so.

puddin 12-03-2005 03:42 AM

He's one ugly ****er, that's for sure.

boo boo 12-03-2005 03:54 AM

I havent heard much of his original material, though i did like his cover of The Beatles Because for the American Beauty soundtrack.

IamAlejo 12-03-2005 08:51 AM

Trick of the light. Must be. He never smiled.

The man was incredible though. Shame he had to stab himself in the heart. Everyone should go and buy 'Figure 8'.

EDGE 12-03-2005 11:48 AM

I love Elliott Smith's music, one of those things you never tire of keeping on repeat.

I agree with this. Either/Or is amazing. Figure 8 is good but for Elliott Smith one of his worst.

Elliott smith is so ridiculously good. I really love listening to him. Beatles-esque melody + heartfelt songwriting + angelic voice = very pleasing to mein ears.

Vismund Cygnus 01-27-2006 01:04 PM

Elliott Smith is great, either/or is one Hell of an album.

I love XO, Figure 8, Either/Or, From A Basement on the Hill, Elliott Smith, Roman Candle. All of them basically, but maybe XO or Either/Or the best ... Can't Make A Sound, Waltz #2 are beautiful.

TheBig3 02-04-2006 12:35 PM

Ok so I don't think I've ever heard Elliot Smith.

Please do not respond with "You must have heard [most popular song]"

Im not you, I havn't, trust me.

So if anyone could recommend something thats got a soul to it, i'd appreciate it. And to clairfy, deep pain and sorrow is not a soul.

Thanks.

Usual indie singer songwriter stuff , nothing that special.

I knew a grand total of 2 people who`d heard of him before he croaked.

She's Lost Control 02-05-2006 06:03 AM

No one I know has heard of him or his music, people keep telling me he's a girl.

cantmakeasound 02-05-2006 12:30 PM

a) He is not female..

b) If you have yet to hear any of his music, I recommend you do so...start anywhere you like.. i guarantee you will admire his art within minutes.

Xo

She's Lost Control 02-05-2006 01:17 PM

I know he's not female, I was just pointing out the stupidness of some people.

I only like one CD. Either/Or.
I have the CD with the songs you downloaded, and I don't like a single song off the CD. Give Either/Or a try.

stakeraiser 05-08-2006 10:43 AM

I enjoy some of his work, definitely lost too young
