You don't have to be old or older to listen to the Rolling Stones (I'm assuming that you meant you are older)

To me it's Kansas' Dust in the Wind... I'm currently trying to figure out how to play it
I'll try to think of other songs, but this one was the first to come to my mind.

It's not on youtube yet, but it will be soon as it just leaked.
but....

I wouldnt say its the saddest ever.

Tech N9ne's "Martini" is a very heartfelt song.
All three verses about things that happened to people he knows
The third verse seems to really get to him.

The new Robbie Williams crapfest is sad for all the wrong reasons.

I like it, even if it is just a carbon copy of Ian Brown's F.E.A.R.

Wha? you cannot compare them at all F.E.A.R is a brilliant track. This isn't a patch on that.

Skinny Love - Bon Iver.
Mad World - Gary Jules.
Hide And Seek - Imogen Heap
^ Not exactly tragical, heart-wrenching melodies, but they have something about them that crawls into my heart and makes me want to just stand in the pouring rain and cry.
>.<
Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley >> Classic heartbreaker.
Hallelujah - Imogen Heap >> Season 3 Finale of The OC. ='[
Running Up That Hill - Placebo >> Episode 1 Season 4 of The OC. It's killer.
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak >> I've had this played my whole life and his voice makes me die a little bit inside everytime I hear it. Again, it's not especially sad, just emotional. HIM did an insane cover of it as well ^_^

Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings and Mozart's Requiem would be pretty good candidates here.
