Best torrent site...?

As of right now my favourite is www.torrentspy.com but i havent seem much and torrent spy is somewhat limited in the lines of not as hugely popular bands........anyone know of any good sites?

adidasss 01-18-2006 07:40 PM

i actually use a client called torrentopia, and you have like half a dosen search engines integrated in it....best ones if you don't want to get the client are mininova and isohunt...

Laces Out Dan! 01-18-2006 07:42 PM

Yeah i had used mininova in the past but wasnt very happy with it....ill try out the one you use

IamAlejo 01-18-2006 07:46 PM

torrentspy and ircspy do wonders for me.

torrentspy=greater variety
ircspy=fast

Laces Out Dan! 01-20-2006 05:23 PM

madeinNY 01-21-2006 08:42 AM

How come when i downloaded a game using a torrent after i couldnt get anything working?

adidasss 01-21-2006 02:45 PM

i think we'll need a bit more info than that....maybe you just downloaded a corrupt file....or maybe you were fiddling with the file before it actually downloaded ( which to my knowledge is a big no no with torrent files), maybe the file includes a crack that you haven't activated and so on and so on....

oh and the pirate bay is pretty good....

Shooting Star 01-21-2006 02:47 PM

I use isohunt.com. It's pretty good.

Antonio 06-12-2009 10:53 PM

isohunt
demonoid(although you need to be invited)
bittorrent

LoathsomePete 06-12-2009 11:00 PM

btjunkie and mininova are wonders, however all of these sites could've been discovered by doing a very simple google search, something I suggest you take into consideration next time, there is a certain feeling of pride when you figure something out for yourself.

Astronomer 06-12-2009 11:09 PM

I use what.cd but I think you may need an invite?

Porn is awesome but btjunkie somehow manages to make it annoying.
I mean christ, I want some Depeche Mode, not 5000 porn pop-ups.

Rickenbacker 06-16-2009 12:39 AM

Your fault for wanting some Depeche Mode ;0

Comus 06-16-2009 01:04 AM

mininova and demonoid always win.

Hesher 06-16-2009 09:44 AM

I think I might have some demonoid invites still but you will have to earn them somehow

>: )

I'll check when I get home today as it's sketchy on the work computer.

Stone Birds 06-16-2009 10:11 AM

what's the point of using torrents?

A lot of stuff is available through them that isn't through rapidshare or what have you, and it also makes it easier to download whole discogs (not to mention programs, games, movies etc.)

yeah, i've gotten whole discographies from Butthole Surfers, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Porcupine Tree through them.

i don't think i can use them as much anymore cause since i got my security upgraded, it always says there's a trojan or malware or something

Freebase Dali 06-16-2009 10:39 PM

I'm gonna go with Pobody and Comus on this one. Mininova is win for a lot of things. I don't often find myself resorting to other choices when searching on Mininova.

Oh, and Stonebirds...
Download a large file straight up, then find that same file as a torrent and download it via a torrent client, then get back to us.

Piss Me Off 06-17-2009 02:01 PM

I use Torrentz.com which is a search engine for all of the main ones, saves time. That said i only reallu use torrents for movies, i fully recommend blogsearching.

keith! 06-17-2009 02:27 PM

I use piratebay.

Stone Birds 06-17-2009 10:03 PM

i'm simplay saying that i don't use them, and i had a friend who started using them to download slipknot, his computer crashed and he switched to using limewire. and i don't really need torrents.

His computer probably realized it was downloading Slipknot and killed itself in shame. Limewire is much buggier and much easier to download viruses from than torrents if you use common sense in choosing them.

maybe, but sometimes you gotta use shady torrents if you've got no other options

And this is why you're officially the best recent addition to MusicBanter.

Final_Victim 06-20-2009 02:14 AM

Demonoid?

Schizotypic 06-20-2009 06:57 AM

I have a line up:
-Demonoid
-BTjunkie
-PirateBay
-Google Search with "band name" "discography" "torrent"
-Search Rapidshare
-Ask MusicBanter

Maybe I should look harder around, but I rarely get to option six anyway.

Well, your friend needs to be more careful. Maybe he should have looked to see if the MP3 files looked the right size, of if there were any files that don't look like they should be there before he downloaded it. Maybe he should have uploaded it to some virus scan site before putting it on an Mp3 player, assuming there even was any Slipknot on there. Maybe he should have used a more reliable torrent site... but jessus, man, limewire?

Kool_Dude_HaMeR 06-20-2009 07:08 AM

^-Google Search with "band name" "discography" "torrent"

never let me down so far.

Unrelenting 06-20-2009 09:38 AM

Demonoid's really good.

For isohunt hAs too much of a small variety. I just search the name of the artist and album torrent on google, like " dj shadow endtroducing torrent" that works cause it searches All torent sites
