"oh yer i like thursday so i should check out thrice" (i LOVE both, but they do have a simmilar sound) and therefore they do not get a chance to expand their musical horizons.

saying that....

if you like thursday you will like alexisonfire

if you like nirvana you will like silverchair

if you like after the fall you will like end of fashion
since when are TBS and Modest Mouse in the same genre? I see the reasoning behind your logic, but it still doesn't work all that well. You were basically just listing two bands that you like, that didn't really have anything in common, so saying that if you like one you'll like the other is a pretty big assumption. That being said, the three new bands you listed at least have some similarities. I'm still udecided on weather or not i like silverchair, there's a few of their songs that I love, but I find I can't really listen to them for a long time without getting bored, they just don't hold my attention. Nirvana on the other hand, i could listen to them fro hours on end no problem.

lets try NOT turning this into an argument...like i said before.

if you like metallica, you might like trivium.

if you like every time i die, you might like folly.

if you like thrice, you might like haste the day.

if you like jack johnson, you might like 2wurds. (yes...wUrds is how its spelled.)

If you like Yes or Genesis, you will like the hell out of Gentle Giant.

Anyone who likes Nirvana should like The Wipers, Vasolines and Meat Puppets.
