for gods sake, turn that crap off

so basically this is a "if i hear that song on the radio one more time im gonna break something" thread. seeing as how theres only one radio station that comes on clear in my room, i have quite a hefty list.

nickelback-photographs
mariah carey-dont forget about us
pussycat dolls-stick with you
the black eyed peas-my humps
three doors down-let me go
kelly clarkson-because of you
the all american rejects-dirty little secret

:banghead:

I feel your pain... radio kills music. You have to know that radio plays what people wants to hear but must people doesn't know a damn thing about music... it's stupid but that's the reality. Those songs are good... one time. The second time your pumping up... and the thrird time you throw your radio by the nearest window.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 01-24-2006 01:27 PM

Fall Out Boy - Pretty much anything ever
Black Eyed Peas - My Humps
Kanye West - Gold digger
Blink 182 - Go [as much as I love them, I hate them for this song]
Kaisers - I Predict A Riot / Modern Way / Everyday I Love You Less And Less / Oh My God / Etc.
Kelis - Milkshake
Destinys Child - anything ever.
Nizlopi - JCB Song
Weezer - Beverly Hills
Simple Plan - Welcome To My Life
Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
Son Of Dork - Ticket outta Loserville [or whatever it is]
Madonna - Hung Up
Sugababes - Push the button
James Blunt - You're Beautiful
Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
Kelly Clarkson - Since You Been Gone
And of course, "pussycat dolls". Doesnt even need to be said, its that painstakingly obvious.

Eheh. I went overboard :)

Me too. Those songs reach into a spot deep inside me, and make me realize how under the right circumstances music can actually drive a person homicidal.

Sneer 01-24-2006 03:00 PM

agree with that list except "take me out" and "i bet you look good on the dance floor". those are two songs i just cannot get sick of.

richard ashcroft - break the night in colour

that is one song that is starting to make me feel giddy with frustration.

Muzak 01-24-2006 04:04 PM

System of a Down- Question!

Merkaba 01-24-2006 04:46 PM

Foo Fighters - Best Of You.

"Is someone getting the best the best the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Ugh so ahhhhh. Wheres my. "Dave Grohl annihilater".

Oh and "Wake up me when this shit ends".

ArtistInTheAmbulance 01-25-2006 04:24 AM

^I cant beleive I forgot those, thank you.

And, I'll add The Darkness - I Believe in a Thing Called Love.

Nightmare of a song..

IamAlejo 01-25-2006 04:59 AM

The solution. Don't listen to the radio.

fidelityfiend 01-25-2006 08:19 AM

I have to agree with Alejo - pretty much all radio sucks. It's gotten to the point where the programming isn't what people want to hear, it's what the corporations want you to hear. The sad part is that you're all buying into it lock, stock, and barrel. I couldn't sing you one verse or even one line of any of the songs you listed because...... I don't listen to commercial radio. Most of the music I like and musicians I respect either don't get any airplay or I simply can't stand to sit through umpteen commercials selling cars, mortgages, nightclubs etc etc. If you want some variety on your radio either get a satellite service or listen to a non-commercial community supported radio station in your area. You probably won't like everything they play but you won't have to listen to commercials and you will definitely hear some music and viewpoints you've never heard before.
My $0.02.

Hey check it out, I just disowned you.

:)

No. But seriously, that thing doesnt class as music.

And Urban, nothing is worse than having to listen to BBC Radio 1 while you work. Not ever. The DJs actually make you want to take a shotgun to the roof of your mouth, in the end, you find yourself relieved when they play Kelis to you. Thats not a good sign.

My $0.02.

thats the way it is. the radio stations play what the industry pumps out by the gallon. there are only about 3 or 4 radio stations in my area that actually play stuff that i want to listen to, and the rest are trash.

sometimes internet radio stations are the best. a few of them are commercial free, and the ones that arent have fewer commercials than any radio station around here.

launch, yahoo's music site, is my favorite place. they have music videos and radio and everything. they do have ads, but they are a maximum of 15 seconds, so you arent going to sit there waiting for music for half an hour.

out of all of the radio stations that i listen to, only one of them is run locally and they still have advertisements.

what are some of the better/lower priced sattelite radio providers around?

half_baked87 01-25-2006 02:37 PM

i never ever want to hear:

crossfade - colours
shinedown - anything they've ever done
10 years - wasteland
three doors down - same boat as shinedown
franz ferdinand - take me out
black eyed peas - my hump
nickelback - everything and anything.

Shooting Star 01-25-2006 02:38 PM

Nickelback are so ****ing repetitive. It's the same song! OVER AND OVER!!

Well we used to have Radio 1 on & thought that was bad , then they rebuilt the roof & now we can`t get a signal from any UK radio. So we`re forced with local radio. after a week of that people were preying to have radio 1 back.

agreed on all of those.

i work at an ice rink and mostly just staff the public sessions. the dj that shows up always plays "my hump" and it annoys the hell out of me. crossfade doesnt bug me as much as the rest of those, but they sure are generic and quite repetitive.

explosions-in-my-pants 01-25-2006 05:52 PM

led zeppelin - stairway to heaven
pink floyd - another brick in the wall part 2
elton john - tiny dancer
april wine - tonight is a wonderful night
eric clapton - wonderful tonight/ concain
queen - every single hit they've had
bonjovi - bed of roses/ runaway/ thank you for loving me
guns n' roses - oh sweet child o'mine / november rain/ its so easy
no doubt - anything on the magic kingdom
fleetwood mac - anything on rumors
steve nicks solo - anything she ever sang on rumors
duran duran - anything

and then everything you already said for me..

the radio station in my town is ****ty, and there's only like 2 hours that are actailly live then the rest of it is all repeted over and over and over and over.. *hangs self*
for one hour it;s all the new R&B and poppy stuff, then it gets into the big hits from every band in the 70's and 80's.... oh so annoying.

Merkaba 01-26-2006 01:42 AM

Kind of sounds like The Rock

Merkaba 01-26-2006 01:49 AM

Actually your right. With a mix of 92 More. Since the songs repeat every 2 hours. I swear I'm taking that radio station and Simon Barnett down to hell with me.

I loathe Simon Barnett.

Yeah, no, I share that wish.

Who gives a radio station the right to cut the best bit out of Killing In The Name Of, then follow that song up with six minutes of American idiot and One Way Ticket. Honestly, that is thee worst piece of editing, thee worst choice of playlist and thee worst dj-ing ever.

Thats my trauma with our radio.

No, I was commenting on a radio station here that has what they call the "no repeat workday" which is just the day befores songs played in a different order.
