Most of you are probably going to laugh at me, but it's my mother's 60th birthday this year, so I plan on surprising her with Duran Duran tickets. Niles Rodgers is opening, so we shall see...

Not exactly a fan by any means and their new album sounds (and looks) like garbage, but the woman gave birth to me, so I guess I can tolerate some **** 80s music for a day.

Somehow it seems a bit unreal to me that the original fans of Duran Duran are in their 50's & 60's now. ;)

i think seeing Duran Duran would be fun....Seven and the Ragged Tiger was my favorite album when it cam out....granted i was not in my 20s like you mom was but i was old enough to recognize good music

I'm no musical purist by any means. My mom played them, along with Prince, tons when I was a little kid so stuff like "Rio" is burned into my ****ing memory. If I'm being honest a lot of that stuff probably informed me more as a musician and songwriter than I would like to admit...

But that new single they put out off the new record...ouch...
