Then again, Bon Jovi is pretty bloody awful. Hmmm... dilemma :(

You probably know more Blondie and Pretenders songs than you think.

downwardspiral 08-06-2010 04:52 PM

I saw Blondie once before and she was amazing! Don't see Bon Jovi, such an awful band.

LoathsomePete 08-06-2010 08:55 PM

Apparently I'm going to see Deftones on Tuesday with a friend of mine who's wife got compted two tickets from the casino that handles that venues gigs. I'm not really big into the Deftones, but there are far worse bands to be stuck going to. It's an excuse to get out of the house and go see a show, something I haven't done in over a year.

Which one will be more fun if completely off my face?

Oh my god, Blondie & the Pretenders. Cause they'd actually be really cool to see.

zeBugMan 08-07-2010 09:56 AM

I'm gonna go see Tenth Avenue North in September. Gonna be awesome.

I'd kill to have those Deftones tickets... I love 'em!

Yeah I kind of wish I knew more about the band. I only know the odd song off of White pony. I always hate going to concerts where I'm only vaguely aware of the band. I feel like such a tourist, and I think the other fans notice it too. In any case I'll take any show right now because like I said, it's been over a year since I've been to one.

Alfred 08-07-2010 03:04 PM

Do you know if Baroness is opening for them?

No it looks like circa survive is touring with them right now. If Baroness WAS opening for them though it would make the gig so much more bearable because... I hate feeling like a tourist at a show.

edit:

OK after snooping through a few of the female last.fm profiles in my area I realized that I will also see a lot of hot chicks there, ohhh the possibilities :D

Alfred 08-07-2010 03:13 PM

Well according to Baroness' last.fm page, they're also touring with Deftones, guess they're on a different date than you though.

My next thing coming up on September 4th:

http://rockstar.unionevents.com/imag...icboom_525.jpg

Aside from those names Tokyo Police Club, Arkells, KO, and Mother Mother are also playing, the first two of which I'm pretty excited to see. I'll also finally get my chance to see Wintersleep! I'm going with a bunch of friends from school the week before classes start, should be pretty fun.

Jesus Christ the Deftones' tour schedule sucks! Look at it:

Reno, NV - August 10th
Spokane, WA - August 12th
Medford, OR - August 13th
Salt Lake City, UT - August 14th
Lubbock, TX - August 18th

Well at least they give them a few days to get to Texas, because that is a LONG ass boring drive.

I saw Arkells in June with Alexisonfire, Moneen, and IllScarlett and they bored me for the most part, but that's probably because I was only familiar with a couple songs, and because Moneen played before them and absolutely tore it up.

TheBig3 08-07-2010 05:16 PM

on Sept. 11th I'm going to see Jamie Lidell

I should really go to this. Going to be one hell of a show, I'm sure.

FETCHER. 08-08-2010 04:55 PM

I'm going to this thing called The Big Reunion in November, has anyone heard of it? It's in England. Seems notbad, considering it is quite a wide range of people and something I would never normally even consider going to.

The BIG Reunion – uk's biggest indoor winter music festival

sidewinder 08-08-2010 05:46 PM

Well I may go see Pavement September 5th if someone will go with me.

No offence, but that would be my idea of a night in hell... I just can't stand idol alumni artists anymore.... let alone his wailing tones...

Leeds fest (Arcade Fire, Queens Of The Stone Age, Atari Teenage Riot, Band of Horses, The Libertines, Blink 182, Weezer, Guns n Roses, Modest Mouse, Biffy Clyro, LCD Soundsystem, Pendulum, Minus The Bear, NOFX, Lostprophets, The Cribs, Klaxons etc. etc.)

Eels
The Bloody Beetroots
Crystal Castles
Placebo
Constellations fest (Les Savy Fav, Broken Social Scene, Local Natives, Los Campesinos!, Four Tet)

Interpol
All Tomorrow's Parties: Bowlie 2, curated by/featuring Belle & Sebastian (Zombies, Teenage Fanclub, 1990s, Frightened Rabbit, Julian Cope, Dirty Projectors, Crystal Castles, Jenny Lewis, New Pornographers etc. etc.)

Also may well be going to an Arcade Fire date, possibly at the o2 Arena, and my friend wants me to go and see Muse so I might be going to one of the Wembley dates D:

James 08-11-2010 10:51 AM

So jealous you're seeing The Zombies.

Dang! You're off to see some pretty awesome bands!

Rickenbacker 08-11-2010 11:26 AM

I've got a great lineup of shows coming up locally in September. Built to Spill is first on the 3rd, then ****ed Up, Wavves and Broken Social Scene. Might go see Panda Bear on Governors Island september 11th, but I'm not sure. The guy who would be taking me kind of hates Animal Collective.

None taken, I'm not that big of a fan of Adam Lambert either. But, hey, free tickets, free night out. I'll take it. (:

scottsy 08-11-2010 03:17 PM

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from... hehehehe... I need to get out pretty badly and I am broke too, so I would probably go to a band / artist I am not totally in love with, too... just to get out and feel human for a short time...
