Hey this thread is knicked from another site lol...
Music is something people should get for free but then it ruins things for people like me *grins*
There's downloading and downloading. One is not good for bands but ok for people but illegal and one is a little worse for people but better for bands...
It's better to stay on the safe side. If you like their music p!ssing go buy it a shop you lazy gits :P Go buy the album and check em out. If you don't like the rest of the album it doesn't matter. I think downloading should be for the bands benefit and/ or just go buy their album and make them no.1... if you're willing to download it then surely it's worth paying extra for the album?

I think downloading is the best alternative to getting a album that you cant find at any record store, most record stores i've been too are flooded with crap...I dont buy stuff online either, and for many reasons.

Spikey 04-03-2006 01:26 AM

Cool point. However notice... ALTERNATIVE not a subitute <<however that's spelt
I think things are good for bands over the internet but the system was better in the old days when you HAD to go out and buy the album.. but yea nice point.

Of course if theres a album that you could just buy at a record store, then it wouldnt hurt to do that instead of illegal downloading, all you have to do is sacrifice 10 to 30 bucks depending on the price.

I think you are not looking hard enough. I live in a small town and still manage to see Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and other alternative rock bands cds in abundance, thanks to Nirvana. The problem for me is the price, whenever I find a good cd it is like 40 dollars. This has happened before a couple of times when going to buy Black Flags Dammaged a few years ago and Televisions Marquee Moon among others. The other problem is getting really underground music. I'm never going to find a single by some punk band that released 100 pressings of said single and then disappeared for good. It's almost impossible to ever hear some of this great music if I don't download it.

Well, Kashyyyk (aka.Tennessee) sucks when it comes to finding good CDs.
