Default Ready for some completely different music than what i mostly listen to, but what?

Here i'll explain...

Not long ago i'd only listen to rap and Michael Jackson and not any other kind of music, it's not that i didn't enjoy or like other kinds of music (i know and hear so many different music,Bob Dylan,Bruce Springsteen, lots of 80's music,Phil Collins,Eric Clapton ,and lots of singer/songwriters in general) but the thing is, when i'm by myself i never listen to any other stuff than Rap and MJ.

Recently i've decided to give Robbie Williams' latest cd a chance cause i kept hearing "Advertisting Space" on the radio and liked it alot...now i enjoy his Intensive Care cd immensely, and i've come to the point that i'm gonna listen to lots 0f other music , cause for one...i'm getting kinda tired of rap lately....i need something different. I also enjoyed several songs from Seal .

sooo....well...just name any artists that you all think i should check out...could be anything...but if there's something similar to Robbie latest cd, tell it!!!!

I can always apreciate good sounding songs with storytelling lyrics about the more
not so happy things in life as well, tragedies, songs that can give you the chills, i definitely apreciate such things, with dark beats or just melodies, i'm open for it all.

GOOD LZ
Green Day

from the last paragraph it sounded that you would like emo, im not into it, but there is a whole forum in this place dedicated to it.

Every time some one listens to Michael Jackson, it kills little boys.

Try 'Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea' by PJ Harvey, one of her more user-friendly albums, and it shows off what a great songwriter she is.

Hmmmm..well i've tried several of them, listen to snippets on Amazon.com
But it's just not my cup of tea,really...

I haven't tried out PJ Harvey yet though, but Nightwish, Dark new day,
Green day, white strips...it's just not the style i enjoy i guess, i think i'm gonna have to try something like singer/songwriters maybe.

I'm not into metal at all, and neither hard-rock,but songs like Nothing else matters from Metallica for example i can definitely enjoy.

I need music about life, things in life, tragedies, (for a change no songs about love and only positive things)dark, sad songs, political..anything, just as long as the music is not to loud, loud in the sense of that it's too 'hard rock'ish"

While looking on Amazon i found a solo album of someone from Pink Floyd, Richard Wright,
great cd, but too bad he only sings on a few songs, cause the music is just great, but i really want to hear someone sing ,you know.

Oh and ArmyofMe, who's Emo? where do i find it on the forum?

Emo as in the music style, but if you like the more singer/songwriter, maybe try some 70's and 80's music like aerosmith, the cure, def leppard, journey, the B-52's (if you have ever watched family guy they sing the intro song, Rock Lobster) Or if you want some more "out there" music with less of the weirdness or screaming, try Cake or the Red Hot Chili Peppers (make sure you listen to "the distance, by cake). If you don't like one please check out some of the others, I am trying to touch all of the bases and the more well known bands that I know.

Sry about that MJ comment, I got bored at about post 35 of 50 last night.
