Default Swordfishtrombones - and other Waits related biz

Well, being the popular artist that he is I imagine there was probably some other thread on him at some point but the search option proved unuseful, 'less I'm just a technophobic moron.

Anyway. I've started listening to Swordfishtrombones lately after finding a very dusty CD jewel case round my mum's dating way back to the 80s. I don't think I really as of yet understand the album, its motivations, its aims and so on, so would be good to see peoples' takes on it and stuff. Find out a thing or two about it through the experiences of others.
